  1. Postpublished at 90+3 mins

    Burnley 0-2 Everton

Mike Trésor sends a shot sailing over the bar and that's enough for many Burnley fans to decide it is time to go.

  2. 'Points and performance will please Dyche'published at 19:22 Greenwich Mean Time 16 December 2023

    Burnley 0-2 Everton

    Andy Hinchcliffe
Former Man City and Everton defender on Sky Sports

I think Sean Dyche will be happy, clearly to get three more points but also happy with the manner in which the game has gone.

The performance, especially how dangerous they have been on set pieces... He will be even more pleased given that they made some changes to their normal starting eleven.

  3. Postpublished at 90+2 mins

    Burnley 0-2 Everton

Everton fans are singing "oh what fun it is to win away" to the tune of Jingle Bells.

They sing with good reason, too, as this will be four successive away wins.

  4. 'Burnley haven't laid a glove on them'published at 19:20 Greenwich Mean Time 16 December 2023

It has seemed very easy for them. They have won the second balls and made it look easy.

Burnley haven't laid a glove on them here.

  5. Postpublished at 90 mins

    Burnley 0-2 Everton

Beto makes a nice run to get onto James Garner's ball but his shot at the near post is kept out by James Trafford.

  6. 'Trafford got very lucky'published at 19:19 Greenwich Mean Time 16 December 2023

He's got so lucky there, James Trafford. He is so far out of his box. If Beto hadn't jumped he could have just ran the ball into an empty net. He got very lucky there, James Trafford.

  7. Postpublished at 88 mins

    Burnley 0-2 Everton

Despite those changes for Burnley I think most of their fans will accept this game is gone now.

All the singing is from the away end.

  8. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 86 mins

    Burnley 0-2 Everton

More changes for Burnley with time running out. Vitinho and Wilson Odobert head off with Nathan Redmond and Mike Trésor replacing them.

Four minutes plus stoppage time remaining.

  9. 'Kompany's taken off his most dangerous player'published at 19:14 Greenwich Mean Time 16 December 2023

I can understand Kompany trying to freshen it up but he has taken his most creative player off. Bruun Larsen has caused Everton problems and laid on that pass for Berge too.

I can't understand why he has taken his most attacking, creative player off.

Not far off from Lyle Foster as he sends a header wide of the post from a free-kick.

  12. 'Unlucky but would not have counted anyway'published at 19:13 Greenwich Mean Time 16 December 2023

    Burnley 0-2 Everton

    Andy Hinchcliffe
Former Man City and Everton defender on Sky Sports

Sander Berge does everything right in terms of trying to pick out that top right corner, hit the ball with the side foot instead of the laces for a more controlled finish.

It was more of a pass than a shot really, used the pace on the back pass.

He was unlucky to see it hit the crossbar, but Larsen was offside from the initial ball into the box so I don't believe it would have counted even if it nestled into the top corner.

  13. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 82 mins

    Burnley 0-2 Everton

Everton make a change for the closing stages as Dominic Calvert-Lewin is replaced by Beto in attack.

For Burnley, Manuel Benson replaces Jacob Bruun Larsen.

  14. Postpublished at 80 mins

    Burnley 0-2 Everton

Sander Berge has another go from just outside the box but this time his effort is blocked by James Garner.

If Burnley are going to set up a tense finish they need a goal around now.

  15. 'Best chance Burnley have had'published at 19:11 Greenwich Mean Time 16 December 2023

    Burnley 0-2 Everton

    Paul Robinson
Former Tottenham and England goalkeeper on BBC Radio 5 Live

They are predictable in possession at times, Burnley. He cuts it back to Sander Berge.

Pickford is beaten and that is their best chance that Burnley have had.

  16. HITS THE WOODWORKpublished at 79 mins

    Burnley 0-2 Everton

Sander Berge has been quiet in this game but he almost has a big say as he lets fly with a first-time effort from the edge of the box that strikes the underside of the bar before being cleared.

  17. Postpublished at 76 mins

    Burnley 0-2 Everton

Another disappointing cross from Burnley as this time Vitinho races away down the left but his looping ball in is too close to Jordan Pickford.

  18. 'Everton are galvanised'published at 19:04 Greenwich Mean Time 16 December 2023

    Burnley 0-2 Everton

    Paul Robinson
Former Tottenham and England goalkeeper on BBC Radio 5 Live

The Everton fans have been galvanised by performances, results and recent things that have been going on. There seems to be a real togetherness.

They have got the job done [in previous games] and they look to be doing the same again today.

  19. Postpublished at 74 mins

    Burnley 0-2 Everton

Good persistence by Lyle Foster to get into the box and then win Burnley a corner.

Jacob Bruun Larsen sends the ball in but again it is comfortably cleared by the Everton defence.

Burnley have attempted 15 crosses but not enough of them have been good enough.

Everton have invited them to attack down the flanks and have been able to deal with pretty much everything they've been able to send into the box from those positions.
