Otaku: Julian 10:16. Poch was brought in to build. It would be idiotic to sack him. Ownership should be the ones getting the heat, not the manager. Poch was brought in to build so let him build. No Chelsea fan shouldn't be called as such if they don't have patience.

  4. City's patience pays offpublished at 15:31 Greenwich Mean Time 16 December 2023

    Man City 1-0 Crystal Palace

    Chris Bevan
    BBC Sport at Etihad Stadium

Manchester City's patience has paid off, and I don't just mean with the long wait for the VAR check that brought an angry reaction from the home fans in front of me.

Palace have packed their defence and are extremely well organised but Pep Guardiola's side kept on probing, and eventually found a gap.

But now they have to do it all over again, because I don't think Palace's gameplan will change at this stage, even though they are behind.

    Man City 1-0 Crystal Palace

It took three minutes and six seconds for VAR to rule Jack Grealish's strike onside.

That's from the moment it hit the back of the net to the referee awarding the goal.

Since the start of the 2020-21 Premier League, only Lewis Dunk (four) and Yves Bissouma (three) have received as many red cards as Raul Jimenez (three).

Sorry but that VAR check at City is ridiculous. VAR is for "clear and obvious errors". On the screen he looked onside so it wasn't clear and obvious. This is why the fans hate VAR.

    Bournemouth 0-1 Luton

A bit of a scramble in the box as Tom Lockyer has three attempts, the first two blocked before he sends the third wide.

Elijah Adebayo then comes again for Luton but can't make the most of it.

  9. HITS THE WOODWORKpublished at 15:30 Greenwich Mean Time 16 December 2023

    Newcastle 0-0 Fulham

Newcastle are so close to taking the lead. Anthony Gordon controls a cross from the right, takes a touch and leathers it against the crossbar from close range.

The rebound just won't fall for a team-mate.

  12. GREAT SAVE!published at 15:29 Greenwich Mean Time 16 December 2023

    Man City 1-0 Crystal Palace

Another big save from Dean Henderson. Josko Gvardiol sneaks in behind and he's one-on-one with the Palace keeper but can't get the better of him.

    Fara Williams

Watching the goal live I did just think Grealish might have been a bit offside.

The angle from behind you can see the defender plays him marginally, very marginally onside.

    Neil Lennon
Former Celtic manager on BBC Radio 5 Live

For me, in a situation like this, you should give the goal because the attackers should be given the benefit of the doubt. You are talking millimetres here.

It is thoroughly deserved from Manchester City and now the questions are on Palace.

Elijah Adebayo has a great chance when he's played in with a long ball and his first touch, on his chest, is perfect.

But he sends it wildly into the stands afterwards.

Newcastle United's Jamaal Lascelles clashes with Fulham's Raul JimenezImage source, Reuters

There was an incident before between Jimenez and Lascelles and I think that was still in his mind. He'd stored it and was stewing on it.

That's what centre forwards are like. He's still angry, thinking what can I do [to get even]? I don't know why he has challenged like that.

Red mist descends, hits Longstaff in the face. It's a red card, correct decision.
