It's going to be a long afternoon for Milner.

Saka will fancy his chances against him. Milner is going to have to keep very tight to him and that's easier said than done.

M.J.: A decent man with clear respect for the players and a love of the game. Notable for his recognition of the Women's game when so many others got cheap acclaim for belittling it. So head and shoulders above them. Well done him.

Thomas Frank says it is his job to put out a Brentford side capable of winning in Bryan Mbeumo's absence.

The Bees forward has been ruled out for 12 weeks and requires surgery on an ankle injury sustained in the defeat by Brighton.

He is the Bees' top scorer this season with seven goals and four assists and had started all 16 Premier League.

"I think it’s my job to find a solution, to put the best competitive team out there ready to compete against Villa," Frank said. "It’s the players' responsibility to step up and take the chance. Now it’s time for them to shine.

"But I will not only put it on them. It’s my job and the coaches job to help them so they are in the best possible position to perform in the best possible way."

YikeYuke: He's been an absolute gem, always. Love him so much. Such a shame to see him go.

Rowe: It won't be the same, but good luck in your new venture.

HotspurNL: Sad to see him go. Always has good insight and manages to stay unbiased.

Brentford v Aston Villa (14:00 GMT)

    • Brentford have lost four of their past five Premier League games, as many as in their previous 18.
    • Aston Villa are unbeaten in their six Premier League matches in London under Unai Emery (W4 D2).
    • Brentford’s Neal Maupay has either scored (two) or assisted (one) a goal in three of his past four home league games. However, Villa is the side he's faced the most without scoring in the top flight (eight matches).
    • No player has scored more Premier League goals following a ball carry this season than Aston Villa’s Leon Bailey (three). The Jamaican is averaging a goal or assist every 66 minutes in the league in 2023-24, with only Callum Wilson of Newcastle United having a better record (64 minutes).

    Arsenal v Brighton (14:00 GMT)

    Alistair Bruce-Ball
Commentator on BBC Radio 5 Live

Billy Gilmour is absolutely perfect for Brighton in the way he plays and dictates tempo from central midfield.

He's growing in stature too in each game.

Once they knew Alexis Mac Allister was going, they knew that he could step in and perform for them this season.

  20. Pick of the statspublished at 13:50 Greenwich Mean Time 17 December 2023

West Ham v Wolves (14:00 GMT)

    • West Ham have won their past three Premier League home games against Wolves. It's their longest winning run against them in league competition, since their first eight such meetings between 1920 and 1961.
    • Wolves are without a win in their previous 10 league games played on a Sunday (D3 L7).
    • Since a 2-0 win over Sheffield United in September, West Ham are without a clean sheet in their past nine league games, conceding 20 goals during that time.
    • Only Brighton , Liverpool and Tottenham (all 16) have scored in more Premier League matches this season than Wolves (15).
    • Jarrod Bowen has scored nine goals in 15 league appearances for West Ham. If he scores against Wolves, he would become the second-quickest Hammers player to 10 Premier League goals in a season, after John Hartson in 1997-98 (15th appearance).
    • Matheus Cunha is just the fourth Wolves player to either score (three) or assist (two) in five successive Premier League appearances - after Hwang Hee-chan last month, Steven Fletcher in August 2011 and Henri Camara in May 2004.
