  1. goal

GOAL - Wolves 1-0 Evertonpublished at 15:24 Greenwich Mean Time 30 December 2023

    Max Kilman

It's a scramble in the end but Max Kilman won't care.

It's curled in from the right and almost poked over the line by an Everton defender.

Eventually, Kilman pokes it in and he celebrates by holding up a shirt in support of team-mate Mario Lemina, who lost his father earlier this week.

It's been a very disjointed performance from Everton so far, striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin is cutting an isolated figure up front.

  3. Blades still packing their defencepublished at 15:24 Greenwich Mean Time 30 December 2023

    Man City 1-0 Sheff Utd

    Chris Bevan
    BBC Sport at Etihad Stadium

City's goal hasn't changed Sheffield United's mindset much, at least not so far.

The Blades are nominally in a 5-4-1 shape, but with William Osula dropping back too, City are basically playing against two banks of five players, camped on the edge of the United area.

So far, City have had 84% of possession, and have played more than 240 passes compared to 43 by the visitors. Just one goal in it at the moment though.

A genuine question, why is every important player praised when they are not able to play and the team struggles in their absence. Why not praise them while they are doing things on the pitch?

    Crystal Palace 1-1 Brentford

Brentford almost get into trouble by playing it out from the back before Ethan Pinnock hoofs it upfield.

    Man City 1-0 Sheff Utd

City continue to probe as Phiil Foden slots through for the onrushing Bernardo Silva. Good reaction from Wes Foderingham who got a fingertip to it down to his right.

I think it might have been sneaking wide anyway but the Blades keeper got down quickly.

  7. 'Good counter'published at 15:23 Greenwich Mean Time 30 December 2023

    Aston Villa 0-0 Burnley

    Dean Smith
Former Aston Villa manager on BBC Radio 5 Live

There was a big chance for Vila with the free-kick and it was a good counter from Burnley. Odebert showed good feet there and it's a corner.

  8. YELLOW CARDpublished at 15:22 Greenwich Mean Time 30 December 2023

    Wolves 0-0 Everton

Nathan Patterson is in the book for a needless shove on Joao Gomes.

    Aston Villa 0-0 Burnley

If anyone is going to score in this game it is Aston Villa who look the most likely. Douglas Luiz sends in a decent free kick, it just needs a touch but instead goes all the way through to James Trafford.

    Wolves 0-0 Everton

A rare chance for Everton as Dominic Calvert-Lewin is given one to chase down the left. He turns inside to find Dwight McNeil but he blasts it way over the bar from long range.

Mathias Jensen and Mads Roerslev are having joy down the right for Brentford. That's where the majority of their attacks are coming from.

Beyer is a big player to lose and we often see them play out and lose possession easily, but they look a better team. Aston Villa are just getting into this game. It is an exciting one.

Doucoure's a huge miss for Everton. No-one else can play the split striker role he does. Sooner we get him back on the field, the better.

  15. CLOSE!published at 15:19 Greenwich Mean Time 30 December 2023

    Crystal Palace 1-1 Brentford

Almost a second for Keane Lewis-Potter! He squeezes between the two centre-backs but drills it straight at Dean Henderson.

  16. YELLOW CARDpublished at 15:19 Greenwich Mean Time 30 December 2023

    Aston Villa 0-0 Burnley

Ezri Konsa is booked after fuming at the referee because Aston Villa were not awarded a corner.

Replays show he had reason to feel aggreived as the ball did appear to come off the back of a Burnley player.

Rodri has added goals to his game and important goals too. Some people think he is just a No.6, but he often creates and that could be such an important goal in this game.
