Luton are in the relegation zone, but they have an identity and a cause and they always look like they are excited about playing in the Premier League. I am not sure you can say the same about Chelsea, for all the money they spent in the summer transfer window.

Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino named the club's youngest Premier League team in Wednesday's win over Crystal Palace, which came courtesy of a debatable late penalty. I'm not sure they deserved it, but at least it meant I got one of my predictions about them right for a change.

I was tempted to go with another Chelsea win this time too, because I don't think the Hatters can keep their intensity going after such a busy Christmas period, but I am going to go with a draw.

    Prediction: 1-1

    Good morning!

I hope you are all enjoying this strange old time between Christmas and the New Year, where we all don't quite know for sure what day it is.

Not even football can provide that stable anchor because there's been games pretty much every day, but today is fairly standard Saturday stuff with a bumper programme of Premier League action coming up.

Luton kick it all off by hosting Chelsea at 12:30 GMT, followed by five more top-flight games:

    15:00 GMT

    Aston Villa v Burnley

    Crystal Palace v Brentford

    Man City v Sheff Utd

    Wolves v Everton

    17:30:

    Nottm Forest v Man Utd

A year ago Luton beat QPR to sit seventh in the Championship.

If you'd told their supporters back then that 365 days later that they'd not only be in the Premier League, but had just recorded back-to-back wins - including against Newcastle - many would likely accuse you of dreaming.

But not only has that been the reality for the Hatters, but they have a very good chance of ending 2023 outside the relegation zone and with a fighting chance of securing top-flight survival.
