  1. Topsy-turvy game at Vicarage Roadpublished at 20:58 Greenwich Mean Time 12 December 2023

    Watford 1-1 Ipswich Town

    Derek Payne
Former Watford midfielder at Vicarage Road for BBC Three Counties Radio

Going in phases this match, one team gets on top, then the other takes control.

Substitutes could play a key part now.

  2. goal

GOAL: Huddersfield 1-2 Prestonpublished at 20:58 Greenwich Mean Time 12 December 2023

    Danny Ward (54 mins)

Will the Huddersfield fightback begin against Preston?

Matty Pearson works a cross to Danny Ward who heads home whilst unmarked inside the box.

    Great stuff from the hosts.

  3. goal

Rotherham Utd 0-1 West Brompublished at 20:58 Greenwich Mean Time 12 December 2023

    Grady Diangana (54 mins)

Fair play to Jayson Molumby - having just made a hash of that volley a moment ago, he provides the cross that sets up West Brom's opener.

Molumby's ball from the right is only half-cleared to Grady Diangana and he lashes a left-foot drive that takes a slight deflection as it whizzes into the net.

A 40th goal conceded by the Championship's bottom side this season.

  4. Postpublished at 20:57 Greenwich Mean Time 12 December 2023

    Rotherham Utd 0-0 West Brom

Early chance for the visitors at the start of the second half, with Conor Townsend dinking a ball towards the edge of Rotherham's penalty area.

It sits up for Jayson Molumby to hit a volley, but the Baggies midfielder shanks it horribly and it ends up closer to the corner flag than Viktor Johansson's goal.

  5. Postpublished at 20:54 Greenwich Mean Time 12 December 2023

    Watford 1-1 Ipswich Town

The rain is heavier, but there's no let-up in intensity at the start of the second half as both teams go at it hammer and tongs.

Watford have applied more pressure in the first five minutes of the second period, but Ipswich are holding firm, having made a change to their defence at the break as Harry Clarke replaces Brandon Williams at right-back.

  6. goal

GOAL: Blackburn 2-0 Bristol Citypublished at 20:53 Greenwich Mean Time 12 December 2023

    Scott Wharton (52 mins)

Blackburn haven't taken long to score their second against Bristol City.

Scott Wharton heads home from his brother Adam Wharton's corner as the hosts double their advantage.

  7. Postpublished at 20:52 Greenwich Mean Time 12 December 2023

    Blackburn 1-0 Bristol City

Back under way at Ewood Park and here's a (potentially sobering) fact for those of you reading this of a certain age.

Rory Finneran is on the bench for Blackburn tonight. That's 15-year-old Rory Finneran. Born in 2008.

Quite something. Will he make an appearance this evening, do you reckon?

  8. HALF-TIMEpublished at 20:49 Greenwich Mean Time 12 December 2023

    Sunderland 0-0 Leeds

The first half ends goalless at the Stadium of Light.

Were it not for goalkeeper Illan Meslier's performance Leeds would be at least 2-0 down, such has been the fervour of Sunderland's attacking prowess in the first period.

A big second half for either side awaits.

We're starting to get under way for the second half in tonight's 19:45 GMT Championship kick-offs.

A reminder that Sunderland v Leeds in the Championship is approaching half-time as well as Reading v Oxford in League One with both of those games getting under way at 20:00 GMT.

  10. goal

GOAL: Reading 1-1 Oxford Unitedpublished at 20:46 Greenwich Mean Time 12 December 2023

    Sam Smith (43 mins)

    Tim Dellor
    BBC Berkshire sport editor

Fantastic pass through to Sam Smith to make it 1-1 from around the penalty spot, who was very cool to play it through the 'keepers legs.

The Oxford fans are not happy, I think he was half a yard offside, but they have given the goal.

Now the tennis balls come down, we will take a moment or two as the stewards pick up hundreds of balls.

  11. goal

GOAL: Reading 0-1 Oxford Unitedpublished at 20:43 Greenwich Mean Time 12 December 2023

    Ciaron Brown (39 mins)

    Tim Dellor
    BBC Berkshire sport editor

    Diving-header, it was Ciaron Brown.

The left-back seven yards out meets the cross with a header and angles it past Button.

1-0 in the local derby, that was their first attack of any note.

    That silences the Reading fans.

  12. HALF-TIMEpublished at 20:41 Greenwich Mean Time 12 December 2023

    Watford 1-1 Ipswich Town

Entertaining stuff at the Vic, it must be said.

George Hirst thought he might have doubled his tally, heading home from a free-kick but the referee's whistle correctly halted him in his tracks for a foul.

As it stands, Hirst's legal goal has cancelled out Yaser Asprilla's opener, but Ipswich will need another in the second half if they're to dislodge Leicester from top spot.

  13. Postpublished at 20:39 Greenwich Mean Time 12 December 2023

    Sunderland 0-0 Leeds

Sunderland are continuing to push Leeds.

Alex Pritchard whips a corner into the visitors' box but Jobe Bellingham heads wide of the mark.

The Black Cats are really taking the game to Daniel Farke's side at the minute.

  14. Not a thriller in League One...published at 20:39 Greenwich Mean Time 12 December 2023

    Reading 0-0 Oxford United

    Mick Gooding
Ex-Reading player/manager summarising on BBC Radio Berkshire

    I can't wait for half-time!

The second 45 can't be any worse than this first half as a spectacle that is for sure.

  15. HALF-TIMEpublished at 20:39 Greenwich Mean Time 12 December 2023

    Rotherham Utd 0-0 West Brom

Not a great deal of goalmouth action in the first half, although Rotherham's Seb Revan fired over the bar a few minutes ago.

West Brom have been solid more than anything else but they'll be mindful of the Millers' leaky defence - the total of 39 goals the home side have let in more than anyone else in the division.

  16. 'Preston way ahead of Huddersfield'published at 20:36 Greenwich Mean Time 12 December 2023

    HT: Huddersfield 0-2 Preston

    Paul Ogden
Huddersfield Town commentator, BBC Radio Leeds

    Huddersfield Town have been poor.

Against an opponent that clearly aren't perfect, otherwise they wouldn't have conceded the same number of league goals as Huddersfield have this season.

Preston look someway ahead of Huddersfield at this stage of the season.

  17. HALF-TIMEpublished at 20:35 Greenwich Mean Time 12 December 2023

    Stoke City 0-0 Swansea City

Stoke haven't scored in their last three home games - and that trend is continuing tonight.

The home side have looked more likely to find the net than Swansea so far, but it remains 0-0 at the break.

  18. HALF-TIMEpublished at 20:35 Greenwich Mean Time 12 December 2023

    Huddersfield 0-2 Preston

Preston came into this game off the back of some poor form but you wouldn't know judging by their performance in the first half against Huddersfield.

Goals from Alan Browne and Will Keane puts North End in the driving seat at the break.

  19. Postpublished at 20:34 Greenwich Mean Time 12 December 2023

    Sunderland 0-0 Leeds

How are Sunderland not a goal up against Leeds?!

Alex Pritchard's free-kick is somehow dealt with by the visitors while Jenson Seelt's effort shortly after is well saved by Leeds keeper Illan Meslier.

  20. 'Low on quality, low on entertainment.'published at 20:33 Greenwich Mean Time 12 December 2023

    Reading 0-0 Oxford United

    Tim Dellor
    BBC Berkshire sport editor

Good little bit of play, good possession from Oxford.

Set-pieces have been really poor so far.

It has been quite low on quality so far, certainly low on entertainment.

Button (David-Oxford goalkeeper) has been largely a spectator until now.
