Seven games unbeaten, a manager of the month award and third in the Championship table and chasing down the top two.

Things are going pretty well for Leeds United at the minute in their pursuit of an immediate return to the Premier League.

But with January around the corner, is boss Daniel Farke concerned the impressive performances of some of his squad could cause clubs to come knocking on their door in just a few week's time?

“You can’t be successful with just eleven players," Farke told BBC Radio Leeds.

"I don’t see any key player who is important to us leaving in January.”

High-flying Ipswich Town will go top of the Championship tonight (for around 24 hours at least) if they win at Vicarage Road.

Kieran McKenna's side have been outstanding since coming up from League One last season. They've won 15 of their 20 games to sit a point behind leaders Leicester, and are the division's top scorers with 43 goals.

They come up against a Watford side who have found some form at the right time and have lost just one of their past 10 matches.

The Hornets are two points outside the play-offs - somewhere their fans will expect them to be at the end of the campaign.

  10. Another caretaker derby for Swanseapublished at 19:34 Greenwich Mean Time 12 December 2023

    Stoke v Swansea (19:45 GMT)

Swansea defeated Rotherham at the weekend in the battle of two teams with caretaker managers.

Tonight they venture up the M6 to face Stoke who themselves are without a manager.

Stoke sacked Alex Neil following Saturday's home defeat by Championship bottom club Sheffield Wednesday.

The 42-year-old Scot spent 16 months in charge in the Potteries after leaving fellow Championship side Sunderland to join Stoke in August 2022.

Can either side get back to winning ways as their managerial hunts continue?

Managerless Sunderland swept aside West Brom at the weekend however the Baggies are still very much in the mix for a spot in the Championship top six.

They travel to Rotherham this evening having lost two successive games but Carlos Corberan's side will be feeling confident as they visit the Millers.

Rotherham prop up the Championship table having slipped to bottom spot at the weekend after Sheffield Wednesday stunned Stoke City.

Tonight's hosts haven't won on home ground in their past four league games. Ominous, given they really could do with a win.

In steps former Wigan Athletic boss Leam Richardson to begin their push for survival after his appointment yesterday.

  12. Out-of-form Preston hope to end winless runpublished at 19:25 Greenwich Mean Time 12 December 2023

    Huddersfield v Preston (19:45 GMT)

Huddersfield Town have become the Championship's draw specialists so far this season.

No other club in the second tier has drawn more games at home than the Terriers this season, who have also drawn their past three on the bounce.

Preston travel across the Pennines having lost three and drawn one from their past four games.

They've also failed to score in their past three league games on the bounce.

Victory this evening would certainly get North End's play-off hopes on track while the hosts know victory would move them further away from the bottom three.

Cause for optimism tonight if you're a Bristol City fan.

Jon Dahl Tomasson's side have been on the losing end on six occasions from 10 games at home in 2023-24.

Rovers are also winless in their past six Championship games against Bristol City, with the Robins winning on their two most recent trips to Ewood Park.
