The early buzz and bounce that encapsulated the exciting opening exchanges of this game appeared to have evaporated into the Birmingham night air.

But it's well and truly back now.

This game had looked over after Stephy Mavididi's second goal.

He then departed to a chorus of boos from the home fans and praise from the 2,654 Foxes fans at the Railway Stand End.

And now Jordan James' second goal of the night has given Blues hope.

Mavididi's second goal now adds up to the difference between the two sides. And you can't help wondering even more now how had it might have affected the result if, after being booked earlier for over celebrating, he had then received a second yellow for his blatant first-half dive - a decision which referee David Webb appeared to rather duck earlier.

You can see the Blues players are full of confidence and are playing a few yards higher up the pitch, even out of possession. It's really buoyed the Blues players.

Lee Buchanan has a wry smile on his face when referee David Webb blows his whistle for a free-kick after he left a little something on Abdul Fatawu with a challenge.

That is a free-kick the 22-year-old seemed happy to concede.

Birmingham City fans are not at all happy when Lee Buchanan is bundled over by Abdul Fatawu.

The Ghana international was certainly high with his studs there, but referee David Webb doesn't give anything.

Eventually, Blues earn a free-kick in the same area but Blues fans howl their displeasure.

Birmingham City are suddenly looking threatening again.

They force another corner, but unlike their first-half set-pieces they can't seriously test Leicester.

Siriki Dembele is chopped down on the right, and Birmingham City have a free-kick in a dangerous area.

Juninho Bacuna whips the ball in and it's bundled out for a corner.

And from that, Leicester clear the danger.

We have seen Leicester City pass teams into submission many times under Enzo Maresca this season.

They have gone about their business a different way tonight, but they are now starting to dominate possession like you'd have expected.

Leicester are in total control now. To be honest I can see them getting another two or three goals here if they keep doing what they are doing, and pressing the way they are pressing.

Birmingham City manage to crowd out a corner from Leicester, but Stephy Mavididi was lurking there looking for a hat-trick.

I wouldn't put it past him tonight. He has been superb.
