  1. Coming up in the Championship...published at 14:41 Greenwich Mean Time 26 December 2023

Remember, we have eight Championship games coming up for you at 15:00 GMT, with a couple of key games in the race for the play-offs.

Norwich have been upwardly mobile in recent weeks and head for fifth-placed West Brom unbeaten in five games and with five wins in their past eight games to ease the pressure on boss David Wagner.

In contrast, the Baggies' form has dipped, losing three of their past five games. A Canaries win at The Hawthorns could see them end the day in the top six.

Elsewhere, Hull, in sixth, host a Sunderland side who start the day in ninth and who will be desperate to bounce back from Saturday's 3-0 mauling by Coventry in head coach Mick Beale's first game in charge.

And if both West Brom and Hull slip up, then Watford could climb into the play-off places if they beat Bristol City at Vicarage Road.

Here are all the 15:00 GMT games:

    • Cardiff City v Plymouth Argyle
    • Coventry City v Sheffield Wednesday
    • Huddersfield Town v Blackburn Rovers
    • Hull City v Sunderland
    • Rotherham United v Middlesbrough
    • Southampton v Swansea City
    • Watford v Bristol City
    • West Bromwich Albion v Norwich City

    Millwall 1-0 QPR

The tempo of this game is still not at it's peak, but QPR are starting to get into this contest.

The visitors have finally had their first shot on target, although it was a rather tame one from Ilias Chair that was gathered easily by Matija Sarkic.

  3. 'Frustrating' afternoon for Leedspublished at 14:37 Greenwich Mean Time 26 December 2023

    FT: Preston 2-1 Leeds

Ex-Leeds defender on BBC Radio Leeds

Massively frustrating. Leeds didn't get going until Illan Meslier got sent off, conceded a sloppy goal and then worked tremendously hard to get back into the game.

There was only going to be one winner then, but Liam Millar picked the ball up, came inside and got it on his right foot. It's not in the top bins, it's halfway up the net and I think the keeper should do better.

You can't fault their effort and endeavour in the last 20 minutes but they should have started the game like that.

Mansfield celebrate against GrimsbyImage source, Dan Westwell

The final whistle has blown at Mansfield and they have eased to a 2-0 victory over League Two strugglers Grimsby Town thanks to goals from Davis Keillor-Dunn and George Maris.

The result lifts the Stags into second, but it may only be for a matter of hours, as Barrow face leaders Stockport later today.

Crawley have gone 2-0 up away at Gillingham, while in League One it is still 0-0 between Leyton Orient and Charlton.

  5. FULL-TIMEpublished at 14:28 Greenwich Mean Time 26 December 2023

    Preston 2-1 Leeds

Huge result in Lancashire, as 10-man Leeds fall to a late defeat.

There wasn't much doing in the first half but Illan Meslier's red card for the away side changed the match completely.

The Frenchman was sent off for pushing Milutin Osmajic in the face and Alan Browne headed the home side into the lead minutes later.

Leeds thought they had rescued a point when Pascal Struijk kept his cool to slide home a penalty in the final 10 minutes but the excellent Liam Millar popped up with a superb late winner.

Leeds stay seven points behind second-placed Ipswich, who host leaders Leicester tonight.

Preston move to within one point of the top six, although they have now played a game more than all of the other teams in that pack.

Two minutes of time added on to go.

How damaging could today prove to be in Leeds' push for promotion?

You can't fault Leeds' effort and endeavour. Since Meslier got sent off, they have grafted to get back into the game.

Willy Gnonto's free-kick is straight at Freddie Woodman in the home goal.

    A waste.

Dear me. Daft challenge from Alan Browne, who is on a booking, gives Leeds a free-kick in a good area.

Karl, Rotterdam: Leeds had been doubling up on Miller all afternoon. He's had Gray's number all afternoon and nobody bothered to put the hard work in to back him up. Not a surprise what happened. Great finish though.

    Preston 2-1 Leeds

Eight minutes of time added on then, not the four I initially incorrectly said.

    Apologies for that.

Preston forward Liam Millar wins a corner for his side.

He's been excellent today and looks set to be the matchwinner.

There has been a stoppage in the match due to the assistant referee struggling with the something, not sure what at this moment in time - hopefully everything is ok.

  14. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 14:20 Greenwich Mean Time 26 December 2023

    Preston 2-1 Leeds

It's a great finish by Liam Millar. He stands Archie Gray up in the corner, skips past him but I think the goalkeeper has to do better as it was not top bins.

Leeds were on top in the game and that is a bitter, bitter blow.

  16. goal

GOAL: Preston 2-1 Leedspublished at 14:18 Greenwich Mean Time 26 December 2023

    Liam Millar (89 mins)

    STUNNER!

He has drifted in and out of this game but Liam Millar now has a beauty of a goal to go with his earlier assist.

The Canadian comes in off his left flank for the umpteenth time today and then curls in a wonderful shot.

Preston back in front against the 10 men!

  17. YELLOW CARDpublished at 14:17 Greenwich Mean Time 26 December 2023

Nervous times now for Preston. I suggested the battling performance and guts they were showing had them on course to win, but they had to keep a cool head, and they haven't.
