That's all from me tonight, as Ross County fight back to earn a draw at Easter Road.

Thanks for your company this evening. We'll be back tomorrow evening for the other five Scottish Premiership games - see you then.

  2. 'I take responsibility' - Montgomerypublished at 22:32 Greenwich Mean Time 31 October 2023

    FT: Hibernian 2-2 Ross County

Hibs head coach Nick Montgomery on Sportsound:

"Two-nil up at home and giving two goals away is definitely two points dropped. But that is down to us not managing the game properly and I take responsibility for that. I felt tonight was a good chance for us to get three points but all credit to County.

"We conceded from a quick free-kick that we weren't set for, it is a disappointing own goal and 2-1 it is a dangerous scoreline. We also didn't perform to the standard that we expect.

"I do not think we were complacent. I made a couple of changes tonight and I will take responsibility for those and if we lost a little bit of cohesion as a result.

"We have to be better and I share the fans' frustration at the way we conceded the two goals because they were both avoidable.

"I felt boys that came in tonight deserved the start. The squad are honest and hardworking. I am the manager, I make the decisions but it is down to everybody.

"We put a lot of work in to every game and a times we stuck to gameplan but other times we were a bit frustrated on the field. We should have managed the game better but we did not."

If you're 2-0 up, controlling the ball, you don't allow the opposition back into it.

If you're able to just keep the ball, move the opposition around, more chances will come.

That is where Montgomery will be frustrated tonight. They didn't do that.

  5. 'Disappointed we didn't win' - Mackaypublished at 22:16 Greenwich Mean Time 31 October 2023

    FT: Hibernian 2-2 Ross County

Ross County manager Malky Mackay on Sportsound:

"I thought the players were really brave. To come down to Easter Road, pass the ball the way we did, score the goals we did, disappointed we didn't win.

"I thought we were terriffic. When I look at it, we have done a lot of work in a week. There were various changes throughout the week and at the end of it I have got to be happy with the way my players have worked.

"Yan [Dhanda's] delivery has been excellent since the day he arrived at the club."

When asked if his side should have had a penalty for a potential Paul Hanlon handball, Mackay said: "Yeah absolutely.

"For the fans to come down from Dingwall on a Tuesday night and then get back in their cars to drive north, I have got to be thankful and I am delighted for them to see players fighting for the jersey.

"The games come thick and fast but what I know is that my team are the equal of any team in this league apart from the big two."

Yan Dhanda was a massive part of that Ross County comeback.

He only came on in the 63rd minute, but put eight crosses in, created three chances, and made six final-third entries.

At the moment I think Nick Montgomery has had a really positive start.

Today was probably a wee blip but he just needs more time he has to implement his style and it will be interesting to see where they are in six months or so.

You might see some really open and entertaining games that will be really interesting to watch.

You feel that Nick Montgomery will look back at some of the subs he made with his side 2-0 up and wonder if they were a mistake.

Rocky Bushiri and Jimmy Jeggo were doing pretty well in the game, but Allan Delferriere and Paul Hanlon struggled to cope with the balls that County put into the box.

Malky Mackay will probably use this as a tool to motivate the players.

They have to stick together and use the squad.

The players could have been down from the game at the weekend but they came in with a real positive attitude.

All credit to Ross County for the performance and not giving up.

I think a draw is a fair result.

It is obviously going to be very difficult for Hibs to take, whereas Ross County will be delighted.

But I think over the 90 minutes a draw is a fair reflection on the game.

It comes to nothing and that is that at Easter Road.

Hibs thought they had all three points in the bag, but an Allan Delferriere own goal and Jordan White's superb strike have seen County snatch a draw.

Yan Dhanda has been superb since he came on, causing Hibs all kinds of problems with his delivery into the box.

Another brilliantly delivered corner has the hosts in all kinds of bother, and Jojo Wollacott has to spring to his left to push a goal-bound header over the bar.

    Victor Loturi should be off.

Just seconds after his first yellow, the Canadian midfielder sticks out an arm to stop a Hibs attack.

He's practically caught that, but the officials can't have seen it.
