    Well, sort of.

For my humble opinion, Sammy the Tammy is an insitution of Scottish football. There may be no more iconic mascot in the land.

The good folks at A View For The Terrace have taken a look at the legendary figure in Dunfermline.

Who's top of the class, and who's had their golden time* taken off them?

Now that everyone's played everyone and we're a quarter of the way through the season, BBC Sport Scotland have had a go at dishing out early report cards to the teams enrolled in this year's Championship.

  4. Derby day dramapublished at 19:34 Greenwich Mean Time 3 November 2023

    Morton v Dunfermline (19:45)

Of course, you never ever want to lose a derby, but a 93rd-minute sucker punch in your rivals' home stadium? That gotta hurt.

Sam Staton's last-minute goal for Raith Rovers in last week's Fife Derby defeat condemned Dunfermline to their third league loss on the trot after making a solid start to life in the second tier.

And the post-match bamming up from the Raith Rovers media team wouldn't have softened the blow any...

For a time towards the end of the last season, there may not have been a more exciting team in Scottish football than Greenock Morton.

Out of nowhere, they sprung a genuine play-off push that was almost considered a title challenge for a brief moment, such was the tight nature of last season's campaign.

This year, something's not quite right. They find themselves at the bottom of the table, despite adding experience to what seemed an overperforming squad.

Tonight is their opportunity to put things right and begin to look upwards, rather than fearing the drop.

  7. Hamilton and Chalmers in for Parspublished at 19:25 Greenwich Mean Time 3 November 2023

James McPake makes two changes to the side that endured that gut-wrenching derby defeat by Raith Rovers last weekend.

Captain Kyle Benedictus drops out the squad entirely, with vice-skipper Chris Hamilton coming into defence to take the armband.

Rhys Breen also isn't named on the teamsheet as Joe Chalmers take his place, most likely in a defensive role.

    Morton v Dunfermline (19:45)

Despite tasting defeat to Dundee United-chasing Raith Rovers on Halloween this midweek, Dougie Imrie has taken enough from the performance to name an unchanged side.

Tuesday's goalscorer Iain Wilson will likely fill in at right wing-back in Morton's 3-5-2 system, which is spearheaded by the well-kent faces of Robbie Muirhead and George Oakley.
