Cole Palmer, in attempting to keep a loose ball in play, inadvertently sets up a Newcastle attack with a careless backheel.

Fortunately for the newly capped England international, the hosts cannot make anything of the opportunity.

    Marcus Tavernier (12 mins)

Bournemouth have had most of the ball and now they have a goal.

Antoine Semenyo gets the ball on the wing, cuts in and then plays a lovely through ball to Marcus Tavernier.

Tavernier knocks it past a defender and then slots a shot into the bottom corner.

    Luton 0-0 Palace

Nice play from Luton. Tom Lockyer can't get on the end of a cross from Amari'i Bell but they keep it alive. Another cross is testing for Sam Johnstone but he does well to keep hold of it under pressure.

A friend said to me earlier that watching Manchester City v Liverpool is like a different sport to the international break.

But big Euro 2024 qualifying vibes here. Finland v Greece or something.

    Nottingham Forest 1-0 Brighton

Brighton look to respond to that early set-back, and earn a corner when Ansu Fati's shot from the edge of the box is deflected wide.

Lewis Dunk can't make good enough contact with his header from the set-piece, and Forest clear.

    Burnley 0-0 West Ham

    Simon Stone
    BBC Sport at Turf Moor

Burnley are yet to collect a point at home this season.

They did lead here against Tottenham and Chelsea but lost both matches.

Johann Gudmundsson had an early effort on goal but didn't test Alphonse Areola with his shot from outside the penalty area.

Morgan Gibbs-White is flying down the right side and all he does is put it into a nice area and defenders get drawn to Chris Wood.

Anthony Elanga is on his own at the back post, he did not try to head it too hard but he just directed it in.

A difficult finish, but he made it look simple.

    Luton 0-0 Palace

It's Palace who are on top at the moment. They move it through the middle nicely and find Odsonne Edouard in the box.

He spins on the spot and drills it low but it's down the middle and easy for Thomas Kaminski to gather in.

    Chris Waddle
Ex-Newcastle winger on BBC Radio 5 Live

It is end-to-end stuff and it has been an energetic game. I think Chelsea will enjoy it and it will be very open.

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola speaking to Match of the Day: "That was an excellent performance. I am really proud that after eight years we are still playing that way. We were really good in all departments and needed to be against an incredible team.

"Maybe we missed the last pass a little bit but they defended really well. To concede just two shots on target against Liverpool is a big compliment for the way we work.

On Erling Haaland's goal: "It was really good and the action from Nathan [Ake] was perfect. We know the quality of Erling."

Last season, Joe Willock scored the only goal in this fixture. The midfielder is the latest man on the Newcastle treatment table with an achilles problem.

Some good news for Eddie Howe though as Tino Livramento makes his first start of the season, at left back.
