Just looking at this Liverpool team today, I'd say there's a lack of belief that they can hurt City. Not enough composure and confidence in their decision-making.

    Man City 1-0 Liverpool

Eeek. Trent Alexander-Arnold's header is a poor one and it falls to Erling Haaland in the box.

The bounce is unkind and Haaland can't get his leg over it enough. He ends up skewing it over the bar.

    Simon Stone
    BBC Sport at Turf Moor

I saw quite a few West Ham players walking into Turf Moor and didn't spot Jarrod Bowen but a couple had gone in before I was at the entrance so I couldn't say for certain whether the England man was with them or not.

Unsurprisingly, the Hammers contingent are not keen to impart the information.

    Izzy Christiansen
Former Everton and England midfielder on BBC Radio 5 Live

I am just watching Klopp's body language and he got really frustrated with Alexis Mac Allister for not passing the ball quick enough. Perhaps the intention [to attack] is there but perhaps the players aren't executing it well enough.

Ederson reads the flight of the ball brilliantly and holds it. He tries to release it quickly to Erling Haaland but Virgil van Dijk is there.

City then break again as Jeremy Doku beats Alexis MacAllister and tees up Julian Alvarez. He skies it over the bar. Big chance!

Ryan: Since Firmino and Mane left, Liverpool have been well off the pace. From 1000 to 10 in terms of quality.

Sansu: Liverpool need more than just excellent strikers, they need ones that are feared by the opposition. Fowler, Suarez, Torres being examples.

Nik: All the hype about Man City vs Liverpool being the “biggest game of the season” is disrespectful of Arsenal. City are absolutely toying with Liverpool, while Arsenal played them even, had a dodgy Kovacic red card go against them, barely gave Haaland a sniff, and won.

Brentford defender Nathan Collins is ruled out after injuring ankle ligaments playing for the Republic of Ireland.

Keane Lewis-Potter and Shandon Baptiste return after respective calf and shoulder injuries.

However, this game comes too soon for Josh Dasilva and Mikkel Damsgaard.

Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale will replace David Raya, who is on loan from Brentford and therefore ineligible, while Fabio Vieira is suspended.

Gabriel Jesus is available after making his return from injury with Brazil.

Manager Mikel Arteta hopes to welcome back captain Martin Odegaard, who is recovering from a concussion suffered in training.

Ben White will also be monitored but Emile Smith Rowe, Jurrien Timber and Thomas Partey are still unavailable.
