I imagine there will be gripes about the disallowed goal if City don’t win this but they only have themselves to blame. No matter how comfortable you feel, a one goal lead is always precarious.

The diving from the city players in the last five minutes has been staggering. They're terrible when they're rattled.

Manuel Akanji is fouled by Cody Gakpo. City play on and send Phil Foden on his way down the right but it's brought for the free-kick.
City aren't happy and Bernardo Silva is cautioned for dissent, but the referee is arguing he has to stop play for a head injury as Akanji was holding it.

It's got touches of a team going to Manchester City and you stay in it and go for it in the last 10 minutes of the game.
But when you look at the City bench, there isn't much to it. There aren't any players you turn to, to get another goal.
Man City 1-1 Liverpool
Julian Alvarez curls it in, looking for Erling Haaland, but it's put out for a corner by Wataru Endo.
The next delivery is held by Alisson.
Man City 1-1 Liverpool
Joel Matip brings down Jermey Doku right on the edge of the box. Liverpool aren't happy with the decision but Matip is in the book and replays suggest it's right.
Man City 1-1 Liverpool
Harvey Elliott is on for Darwin Nunez. Wataru Endo is also on for Alexis MacAllister. That's all five of Jurgen Klopp's subs used.
City haven't made a change yet.

Noticeably, the intensity of Liverpool since they have equalised has gone up.
Man City 1-1 Liverpool
Liverpool break down the right... Cody Gakpo is closed down by Nathan Ake.
Man City 1-1 Liverpool
The free-kick isn't a good one. City maintain possession though and Rodri clips it over to Jeremy Doku. His shot is blocked.

The first touch from Alexander-Arnold was brilliant and it was a really well-taken goal. I think the changes Klopp has made have worked and it is a little bit cat and mouse at times but Liverpool are back into it.

Paul: Alexander-Arnold there showing Nunez how to finish. Barely deserve it but they’ve somehow scored.
Mark: That lad that can't defend, but can certainly strike a ball.
Anon: That Liverpool goal came from a forward run of 30-40 yards by Gravenberch. That's what he brings to the side and shows why he is miles ahead of Curtis Jones - why Klopp starts him I will never know!!
Man City 1-1 Liverpool
Cody Gakpo, who has not long been on for Liverpool, gives away a free-kick just outside the box.
Bernardo Silva and Julian Alvarez are eyeing up the set-piece. It's a teasing position.

At 1-0 down, you stay in the game. That is exactly why you do it. Salah just kisses the ball into his path and Alexander-Arnold finishes it low past Ederson. That is why you stay in the game.
Trent Alexander-Arnold (80 mins)
Liverpool are back in!
Mohamed Salah tees up Trent Alexander-Arnold on the edge of the box. His first touch is a good one and his second is even better as he drills it low and powerfully into the bottom left corner.
It's a great finish from the full-back and he celebrates by holding his finger up to the City fans, quietening them down.
Man City 1-0 Liverpool
Liverpool break through Mohamed Salah down the middle. He lays it off to Luis Diaz on the left but his cross, while Liverpool had numbers in the box, is terrible.
City then go down the other end and it's inches away from going in after Jeremy Doku's cut-back isn't deal with!

Mike: The other way round , that contact would never be a penalty.
David: City goal disallowed because Alison can't catch! He didn't have his hands on the ball, the ball went straight through them. Poor decision.
Chris: Why does Howard Webb want to stop light contact leading to soft penalties, but not care about light contact on goalkeepers that stops perfectly legitimate goals?
Man City 1-0 Liverpool
Luis Diaz and Phil Foden clash near the touchline. Foden goes down clutching his face but replays show he merely got caught by Diaz's hand as he tries to screen the ball. The referee gets play back under way within seconds.
Man City 1-0 Liverpool
From the free-kick, Erling Haaland heads it over the bar.
