It is about taking that gamble. It almost paid off for Blackburn.

What a ball from Kian Best to tee up the onrushing Milutin Osmajic as Preston keep pushing in the Blackburn half.

Osmajic gets on the end of his but his header cannons off the underside of the bar and over the line but he's flagged for offisde.

Meanwhile at the other end North End scramble and concede a corner as Arnor Siguardsson threatens.

Ryan Lowe has made a tactical change.

Not only has he brought Ched Evans on for Will Keane, he has put Duane Holmes from the right to the left and Liam Millar from the left to the right.

It looks like they will be playing 4-4-2 from now on. Preston look disjointed.

Preston come milimetres away from taking the lead once more!

Brad Potts' ball is deflected into the path of Duane Holmes, whose quickfire strike from close range rebounds off the right-hand post.

A let off for Blackburn after they themselves hit the woodwork twice at that end of the field in the first half.

After Blackburn's corner fails to test the visitors, Preston make a substitution.

That comes after Jordan Storey slides to block a Tyrhys Dolan ball in the box and the ball appears to make contact with his hand - causing shouts for a penalty from the hosts.

Lewis Travis does well to win a corner for Blackburn as he puts them under pressure from a tight angle.

But he seems to have collided with the advertising hoardings and comes off worse, and looks in some pain.

He tries to run it off but Blackburn really could do without any more injuries at the minute.

Last time these two teams met, the match ended in a 1-1 draw.

Now that we've reached that scoreline, there's no way it'll end like that this time is there?

Sammie Szmodics is played through once again and, from roughly the same area from where he equalised just now, he fires straight at Preston keeper Freddie Woodman.

The team talk would certainly have roused them.

Preston have come out startled, probably without a game plan, apart from keep it tight for the first minutes.

Rovers are going for everything, they have that extra yard. They have a fire in their belly.

Just watching a replay of that Sammie Szmodics goal, it's impressive how he manages to find the space to work into the box and hit the target.

Liam Lindsay seemed stunned as Szmodics had got the better of him. As was North End keeper Freddie Woodman.

Game on.
