    Man City 4-0 Tottenham

Former England international on BBC Radio 5 Sports Extra

The Man City players were queueing up there to take the shot, just the composure of Lauren Hemp there - we saw that last week in the Manchester derby.

This time, she's come in field on her right foot, apparently her non-preferred foot and put it in the top corner. It's just so impressive.

This is a real statement of intent from Manchester City - and a major reality check for Spurs.

The gap between the WSL top four and the chasing pack has been exposed today, and nowhere more brutally than here.

  3. CLOSE!published at 50 mins

    Man City 4-0 Tottenham

A rare sight of goal for Martha Thomas, who races into the Manchester City penalty area but Khiara Keating is equal to her low shot. That's as good a chance as she's likely to get this evening.

    Lauren Hemp

    Finish!!!

It's the worst possible start to the second half for Tottenham.

Lauren Hemp collects Khadija Shaw's deflected cut-back, composes herself and bends a delicious shot into the top corner.

It leaves Rebecca Spence with no chance - and Spurs' hopes of mounting a fightback of any sort are surely over.

Will it be more of the same from Manchester City, or can Tottenham make this a bit interesting?

Robert Vilahamn is making one change for the visitors, bringing on Rosella Ayane in place of Zhang Linyan.

Man City thoroughly deserve the lead just with how dominant they've been in the final third, the chances they've created, how dominant they've been from set pieces.

As a centre back, when you play against Bunny Shaw - she attacks the ball, the physicality, the game intelligence and before you can even get tight to her and put her off, the ball's in the back of the net.

Big lessons learned for the two Tottenham centre backs against her.

I was here a couple of weeks ago when City were beaten by Brighton in a torrential downpour.

Everything is different today. The performance of the home team, the body language of Shaw, the atmosphere among the fans, the weather.

    Especially the weather.

    HT: Man City 3-0 Tottenham

With her first-half treble, Khadija Shaw has moved level with Chelsea's Lauren James and Tottenham's Martha Thomas as the WSL's leading goalscorers this season.

On the evidence of that first 45 minutes, she'll be feeling confident of taking that position outright before the day is done.

Thomas, meanwhile, touched the ball just 11 times in the first half - the fewest of any player.

Spurs desperately need to get her involved in the game.

The perfect first half for Khadija Shaw.

The scoreline reflects the mindset of both teams. I really like what Tottenham are doing under the new manager and I don't think this game will be definitive in what they continue to do.

I just feel like Manchester City when they are in the mood, and when they are they are hard to stop.

I thought the first two goals were exceptional headers, but that one was just on another level. I didn't think the first one to get a hat-trick would be better than the first two, but it was - it was sensational.

She just took a great touch, and she struck it like she meant it like nothing was going to get in her way.

When she's playing like that, she is awesome.

This is the Khadija Shaw we saw score 20 league goals last season, and lead the Jamaica line so fiercely at the World Cup.

She's had a relatively quiet start to this season - but tonight, Bunny has some bite.

    Khadija Shaw

Khadija 'Bunny' Shaw has a first-half hat-trick - and this one is the best of the lot!

It's a superb bit of control from Shaw under pressure in the box as she takes down Laia Aleixandri's pass, before firing in a low finish to complete a 15-minute treble.

City are running riot and Tottenham have nothing in response.

It's a carbon copy of the first goal, really good patient play from Man City, forcing and dominating the areas they want to get in to.

And with deliveries like that, Bunny Shaw just has to position herself, marked tightly or not, she attacks the ball with such pace, power, fierceness, that it doesn't matter where it goes.

Tottenham offered a promising response to falling one goal down, but this time it's City following up their latest goal by pushing on for another.

The hosts can sense their opponents are vulnerable right now. Robert Vilahamn will be hoping it doesn't get any worse before he can get the players in for half-time.
