    A reminder.

Team GB will be at next summer's Olympics if nominated nation England reach the Nations League final, or finish third in the finals tournament if France make the final.

But, after losses away to the Netherlands and Belgium, Sarina Wiegman's team might not top Group A1 even if they win their final matches against the Netherlands and Scotland.

  4. Hemp set for 50th cappublished at 18:57

    England v Netherlands (19:45 GMT)

Earlier this week, England forward Lauren Hemp said it would be "incredible" to win her 50th cap at Wembley Stadium in the Women's Nations League on Friday.

"There's no better place than Wembley [to win my 50th cap]," said Hemp who is starting tonight.

"It's pretty surreal. Every cap is special to me but obviously to make 50 would be incredible. If you had told me when I was younger that at the age of 23 I would have 50 caps, I wouldn't have believed you.

"It will be an amazing occasion for me to be able to do that but we'll have to wait and see."

Elsewhere, England are without Chelsea centre-back Millie Bright for tonight's showdown, with manager Sarina Wiegman confirming goalkeeper Mary Earps will captain the side in her absence.

The two sides are celebrating 50 years since they first met in an international.

That was back in November 1973 when England beat the Netherlands 1-0 at Reading's Elm Park.

It was the first time England women played at a League ground and they played in front of 2,015 fans.

Fast foward to tonight and the Lionesses regular have huge crowds watching them at Wembley and are expected to play in front of 70,000 in the crunch match against Oranje.

A number of former England players will receive legacy caps before the match.

Had the pleasure of watching the Manchester derby as a fan last month.

Most sellers ran out of Mary Earps scarves before kick-off. The Stretford End was packed full of young United fans in bright green goalkeeper kits too.

Wembley Way is packed with around 75,000 tickets sold for tonight's fixture.

All the usual merchandise is available including the 'half n half' scarves and the fan favourite's Mary Earps one.

"Mary, Mary, come and get your Marys!" was the shout from the seller behind the stall as we wandered over for a look.

There's also a few Netherlands scarves dotted around. The Dutch fans are always in fine voice and will bring some colour to Wembley tonight.

With the threat of relegation looming, Scotland face a must win away trip to frontrunners Belgium in the other fixture in group A1.

Elsewhere, Wales will also be bidding to earn crucial points towards avoiding relegation when they host Iceland.

Having already secured top spot in group B1 and promotion to league A, the Republic of Ireland host Hungary in Dublin.

Strong starting XI for England, but I wonder, who will be up top?

Fran Kirby will wear the number nine shirt, is Sarina Wiegman going to use the Chelsea attacking midfielder as a false-nine?

And where do wingers Lauren James, Lauren Hemp and Chloe Kelly fit in?

  12. Team news - James starts, Russo on benchpublished at 18:36 Greenwich Mean Time 1 December 2023

Sarina Wiegman makes two changes from the England side who lost to Belgium in October.

With captain Millie Bright absent, Jess Carter comes in to partner Alex Greenwood at centre-back.

Chelsea forward Lauren James is back and replaces Alessia Russo in the starting XI.

Fran Kirby gets the nod over Ella Toone in midfield again and it looks like Manchester City forward Lauren Hemp, who is making her 50th appearance at the young age of 23, will play as a number nine.

England XI: Earps, Bronze, Greenwood, Carter, Charles, Walsh, Stanway, Kirby, Hemp, James, Kelly.

Subs: Morgan, Hampton, Toone, Wubben-Moy, Zelem, Mead, Clinton, Daly, Le Tissier, Keating, Turner, Russo.

Arsenal forward Vivianne Miedema, fresh from her return from an ACL injury, is on the bench for the Netherlands.

There's plenty of WSL representation in the Dutch squad with Aston Villa goalkeeper Daphne van Domselaar in the starting XI.

There's also room for Manchester City's Jill Roord.

Netherlands XI: Van Domselaar, Pelova, Dijkstra, Janssen, Brugts, Groenen, Spitse, Van de Donk, Roord, Beerensteyn, Martens.

Wait, what have the Olympics got to do with the Nations League?

Well...England are in League A in the Nations League and will qualify for the finals in February if they finish top of their group.

The two finalists at those finals will take up Europe's spots at Paris 2024.* England are Team GB's nominated nation meaning they're relying on the Lionesses topping Group A1.

And they can only do that with a win tonight.

Got it? Basically, if England lose or draw, Team GB won't be playing football at the Games.

*If hosts France reach the Nations League final, then the winner of the third-placed play-off will also be at Paris 2024.

    The pressure is on.

We're all set for a nail-biter at Wembley. Only a win for England will keep alive Team GB's chances of qualifying for the Olympics.
