    What a great team goal.

    There were various different phases.

Niamh Charles did brilliantly and that combination from Fran Kirby set it up brilliantly.

Finally England had bodies forward and that meant they could continue the attack.

    The comeback is on!!!!

Esme Morgan is waiting to come on for England and was celebrating right in Sarina Wiegman's ear when that went in.

    Lauren Hemp

    WOW!

The Olympic dream is alive! England continue to push and Beth Mead fires a cross into Georgia Stanway who lays it off to Lauren Hemp.

And it's brilliant from the Manchester City winger who curls the ball in off the post. They're back!

    That's more like it!

Georgia Stanway doesn't even celebrate. The England players sprint back to the halfway line to get going again.

In terms of more changes I think the right people are in the pitch at the moment for England but I'm not sure they are neccesarily in the right positions.

Lauren Hemp is not always at her best down the middle, so I would not be surprised to see her drift out wide as the game goes on.

    Georgia Stanway

    Don't. Go. Anywhere!

The comeback begins as Lauren James cuts inside and chips a fantastic ball over the top for the unmarked Georgia Stanway who flicks a header into the bottom corner.

Stanway then grabs the ball from the back of the net and runs it back to the centre circle.

This is Beth Mead's first appearance for England in a year. She's only recently been playing regular minutes again for Arsenal.

I don't think many expected her to come on at half-time and be expected to play 45 minutes in a crucial decider.

But England are desperate and she's a matchwinner.

She'll be pleased with Lauren Hemp's excellent dribble down the right, gaining precious yards, but Georgia Stanway soon loses possession.

It's just not clicking for the Lionesses.

England come again. Good hold-up play from Fran Kirby sets up Lauren James but the Chelsea star is leaning back as she shoots, and her effort balloons over the bar.

An England full back getting caught in possession due to lack of options in midfield. Like watching that Spain goal in the WC over and over again.

    Omri

And that goal shows you why VAR is needed. Clearly offside

Better from England as Lucy Bronze plays the ball into the middle and possession skids out to Lauren James.

"SHOOT" demand the crowd. But James tries to dink a pass and instead gets too much on it and Dutch keeper Daphne van Domselaar runs forward to gather.

    England 0-2 Netherlands

    Karen Bardsley
Former England and Manchester City goalkeeper on BBC Radio 5 Live

It was an unfortunate mistake from Mary Earps in the first half, one of those things that happens sometimes from a routine situation.

It is really hard to shake those moments off from a psychological point of view. She will want to get involved and make a big save early on, get a fresh start as it were.

We've seen this before! The Netherlands' Lineth Beerensteyn is nearly sent through again with yet another ball over the top.

Fortunately for England Jess Carter is on hand to clear this one away. But the plan is obvious for the Dutch. Route one stuff.

  15. Spain qualify for finalspublished at 20:54 Greenwich Mean Time 1 December 2023

Spain are the first team to reach the Nations League finals. The World Cup winners have qualified after Sweden lost to Switzerland.

The Netherlands would join them if they beat England and Belgium fail to beat Scotland.

France, who are leading currently, could also qualify tonight.

    Excellent substitution in my opinion.

Robin: England just looked clueless. Hemp at no 9 and playing it long into her?! There’s nothing happening in midfield and the defence is massively exposed. What exactly was the plan?

Absolutely shocking that there is no VAR for a game like this. Two goals that should not have stood. I’m not pretending that England have been good, but to know that the goals are down to terrible officiating errors is so frustrating. We’ve just seen the replays on the big screen and we are fuming.
