Across the Elbe river, the City of Hamburg – famous for its shipping industry and one of Europe’s biggest ports - will be following the draw and ‘building’ the six groups using huge shipping containers. Look out for that in the television coverage later.

Wales will feature in the draw today as "play-off winner A".

Rob Page's side finished third in their qualifying group and will needed to come through the play-offs to qualify for the tournament proper.

They face Finland in the semi-finals on 21 March and if they win that will face Poland or Estonia in the final on 26 March.

Page is hoping Wales' home form at Cardiff City Stadium will give them a big advantage in the play-offs.

England coach Gareth Southgate is here and he will talk to the media straight after the draw. He’ll no doubt be asked numerous time whether Euro 2024 will be his final tilt at silverware and whether he will take a more attacking approach to make the most of the talent he has at his disposal.

Scotland are eagerly awaiting the draw and of course Wales will be looking on with high hopes of being in Germany next summer if they are able to navigate the play-offs in March.

Speaking after their securing their place at Euro 2024, England manager Gareth Southgate said his side are capable of winning the tournament in Germany.

Watch what Southgate, who led England to the final in the last tournament, had to say below.

Scotland boss Steve Clarke is not concerned that his side in pot three and could have a very tough group.

There is a chance his side could draw France, Denmark and Italy.

That would represent sides ranked second, 19th and ninth in the world.

Germany 2014 World Cup winner Philipp Lahm said his country was planning a "football party" next summer.

"We have amazing stadiums, fans who love football, and we have people who love celebrating with other Europeans," added Lahm, an ambassador for his country's bid.

"In Germany, we always look back on 2006 and how the World Cup brought us closer together while also providing the opportunity to welcome others to our country.

"We plan to replicate that, updated for modern times. We will organise a huge football party in Germany."

Based on Fifa rankings, the toughest group could see France, Denmark, Netherlands and Italy paired together.

They are currently ranked second, 19th, sixth and ninth in the world.

The weakest group is hard to call with the play-off winners still to be decided but in pots one to three you'd be looking for Germany, Albania and Slovenia.

They are 16th, 62nd and 54th in the world.

Numerous Uefa guests and ambassadors have been posing with the European Championship trophy over the past few days.

Here's Manchester City legend David Silva, Wesley Sneijder and Ricardo Quaresma doing just that.

No doubt we'll see a load more big names during the draw ceremony. I've seen a picture of Luis Figo arriving already.

The draw venue for UEFA EURO 2024 is the Elbphilharmonie concert hall on the waterfront in Hamburg. It apparently has incredible acoustics and there is a classical concert planned for 20 minutes prior to the draw to allow the 800 or so guests and footballing dignitaries to take their seats.

Security is heightened and the capacity of the hall has been reduced from 2,000 to accommodate Uefa's staging and for security and fire safety reasons.

Uefa officials are breathing a sigh of relief that they selected the northern city of Hamburg rather than the southern city of Munich for the draw. Snow has closed down Bavaria, so it would have been a nightmare had the draw been taking place in Munich.

Some Uefa staff I spoke to here said it took them 16 hours to get to Hamburg from Geneva because of snow. And their luggage never even made it!

That's enough formalities. Time for some fun!

The 24 teams will compete in six groups of four.

Each team will play three games with the group winners and runners-up progressing to the last 16, along with the best four third-placed teams.

The group stages start on 14 June with Germany facing someone in Munich, and finish on 26 June.

The eight last-16 games take place between 29 June and 2 July, with the four quarter-finals in Stuttgart, Hamburg, Berlin and Dusseldorf on 5 and 6 July.

Munich will host the first semi-final on 9 July, with Dortmund staging the second the following day.

The final is in Berlin on 14 July.
