It's far too comfortable for Arsenal at the moment. Dominating possession but even when it does turn over they win it back quickly and build forward again effortlessly.

Roy Hodgson has some real problems to solve for this Palace side.

Eze is dropping deeper and deeper to try and get on the ball and affect matters. But the fact is as their most talented player, the further he is from the Arsenal goal the more comfortable they are.

A real tough first half - they have to see some changes in the second half.

  3. HALF-TIMEpublished at 13:20 Greenwich Mean Time 20 January

    Arsenal 2-0 Crystal Palace

Arsenal ease to half-time with a two-goal lead thanks to Gabriel's contributions on corners.

He's been awarded both of the goals for now. Palace will be disappointed. They have defended well for the most part.

Are Arsenal incapable of scoring from open play? We may be two up, but the goals hardly answer the striker conundrum.

What a goal this would have been?

Leandro Trossard links up with Kai Havertz and Gabriel Jesus. It's dinked back into the box for the Brazilian but he fires it over the bar.

    Lovely move.

Palace will have to hope Burnley or Luton don't go on a mini run.

Palace's medical team have done a thorough examination of Jefferson Lerma. He seemed to fall awkwardly on his neck/shoulder.

He's walked off to the sidelines now and looks OK.

  8. 'Palace look vulnerable on every set piece'published at 13:14 Greenwich Mean Time 20 January

    Arsenal 2-0 Crystal Palace

Palace are being run ragged right now, every time they get the ball they are turning it over so easily. So sloppy in possession.

Every set piece they look vulnerable, it is not even like the set piece play from Arsenal is particularly intricate, just your average ball into the box and movement, but Palace can't deal with it at the moment.

Bukayo Saka chips it in from the right. Gabriel leaves it for Oleksandr Zinchenko, he clips it back into the middle but Nathaniel Clyne does well to get there ahead of Gabriel, before Zinchenko volleys it over.

    Arsenal 2-0 Crystal Palace

Arsenal are straight on the attack and Marc Guehi has to stop Bukayo Saka getting on the end of a long ball.

But the hosts win a free-kick just on the edge of the box immediately afterwards.

  13. 'Roy Hodgson will be fuming with that defending'published at 13:09 Greenwich Mean Time 20 January

    Arsenal 2-0 Crystal Palace

Really poor marking again from Palace.

A standard delivery into the box and they should defend their box much better than that.

You've got Trossard, one of the smallest players in Arsenal's lineup taking out Andersen and and Schlupp, they must defend better.

Roy Hodgson will be fuming with that.

    Gabriel (37 mins)

This could be an own goal from Palace goalkeeper Dean Henderson but Arsenal won't care who scored - only that it's 2-0.

It's their second from a corner as Gabriel, once again, connects with it at the back post.

His diving header then bounces off the back of Henderson and over the line. It's been given to Gabriel for now.

Tyrick Mitchell does well to defend at the back post but it's another Arsenal corner...

  16. CLOSE!published at 34 mins

    Arsenal 1-0 Crystal Palace

Jefferson Lerma hits this so well!

David Raya is rushed into a poor clearance and it's straight to Lerma. It pops up for the Palace man nicely and he strikes it powerfully on the half-volley.

Raya has to dive to tip it behind for a corner.

Arsenal scoring first is not a surprise. If Arsenal score again and kill this game off before the inevitable defensive blunder - THAT would be a surprise.

    Omri

It's painful at times as an Arsenal fan. Seeing the team look comfortable but deep down knowing that it so easily is ripped away and turned the other way. It's almost inevitable and expected as a Gooner.

  18. 'Declan Rice is dominating the midfield at the moment'published at 13:02 Greenwich Mean Time 20 January

    Arsenal 1-0 Crystal Palace

    Mark Warburton
Former Brentford boss on BBC Radio 5 Live

Eberechi Eze is not getting the service right now.

More importantly, defensively Palace are adopting this 5-4-1 and Eze and Schlupp are being asked to cover a lot of ground in the midfield and narrow the pitch.

Declan Rice is dominating the middle areas right now though, Arsenal are getting runners in behind, particularly Havertz, and I think Roy Hodgson will be very concerned right now.

  19. Postpublished at 32 mins

    Arsenal 1-0 Crystal Palace

A great opportunity for Palace as they win a free-kick just outside the box in a central position.

Eberechi Eze's strike hits the wall, it's fizzed straight back in by Jefferson Lerma and Jean-Philippe Mateta can't quite bring it under control.

  20. Postpublished at 30 mins

Gabriel Jesus is offside again as it's flicked on by Leandro Trossard.
