Former midfielder Cesc Fabregas believes "the time will come" for Arsenal to get back to scoring and winning ways.

The Gunners have struggled in recent weeks for consistency, winning just one of their past seven games in all competitions.

In their 2-0 defeat by West Ham in December, they had 77 touches in the opposition box without scoring - a record for a team in the Premier League since Opta records began.

Speaking on the Planet Premier League podcast, Fabregas said: "They need to get their confidence back in front of goal.

"I'm sure the time will come [to score goals] because when you go through a dip during the season, you want it to be now and that's it.

"Get it over with. Just like Man City does every season, like Liverpool does every season.

"We have spoken about them being quite young, how can they react to bad moments? I'm sure they'll be fine. I'm not too worried about them."

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta on Crystal Palace and their manager Roy Hodgson: "Massive respect, big admiration for how he's conducted himself and his career.

"His teams are very well organised, he's very good at provoking what he wants from the game. Tomorrow will be a battle."

On getting the crowd motivated for the 12:30 GMT kick-off on Saturday: "We need to get them going. They've been exceptional with us.

"The team is super motivated and we want to attack the second half of the season with ambition. The team is capable of big things."

Roy Hodgson was booed for taking off Eberechi Eze in Crystal Palace's FA Cup defeat by Everton on Wednesday.

He was asked about it in his media conference this week, saying Eze returned when he "wasn't 100% healed" from injury.

"He was so keen to get back, if it had been left totally to the medical department to give the green light they probably wouldn’t have done so," said Hodgson.

"That 60 minutes at Everton was the fittest and most like him I've seen for a while. If he can keep that going and Michael [Olise's] injury isn’t too bad, then our team will start looking more like it did last season.

"I think we’re going to give [the fans] a little bit more cheer in the second half of the season.

"I know they’ll stick with us, cheering the team on, but it's up to us to give them something to cheer about."

Crystal Palace's tally of 21 points is their lowest after 20 matches of a Premier League campaign since they amassed 19 in 2018-19 during Roy Hodgson's first spell as manager.

Their only win in the last 17 Premier League away London derbies came at West Ham in November 2022.

Palace have conceded 11 goals in the final 15 minutes of league games this season, second only to Sheffield United's 16.

They can win consecutive league games for the first time since April, when they won their first three after reappointing Hodgson as manager.

They sit 14in in the table, just five points above the relegation zone and eight points off the top half.
