  1. Postpublished at 74 mins

    Barcelona 1-0 Atletico Madrid

Atletico continue to probe and Barcelona are having to roll their sleeves up to keep them at bay.

Even Robert Lewandowski is chipping in as he wins possession back at his own corner flag.

  2. Postpublished at 72 mins

    Barcelona 1-0 Atletico Madrid

Atletico get down the left with Cesar Azpilicueta and the full-back delivers a deep cross to fellow substitute Angel Correa.

The Argentinean, unmarked at the far post, really should do better as he lets it slip under his boot and behind for a goal kick.

  3. Postpublished at 70 mins

    Barcelona 1-0 Atletico Madrid

All of a sudden Barcelona find loads of space in midfield, it's worked out to Raphinha but his cross is met by the head of Axel Witsel.

  4. Postpublished at 69 mins

    Barcelona 1-0 Atletico Madrid

Joao Felix finds a pocket of space on the edge of the box but his shot is poorly executed with the outside of his boot and goes well wide.

  5. Postpublished at 68 mins

    Barcelona 1-0 Atletico Madrid

Wasteful from Barcelona. It's just not clicking for them in this second half and that might be because Atletico are holding their defensive line a little higher up.

Ilkay Gundogan tries to play a ball across the field but it's misplaced and out for a thrown-in.

  6. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 65 mins

    Barcelona 1-0 Atletico Madrid

    Double change for Atletico Madrid.

Diego Simeone seems to have gone back and forth with this over the last few minutes.

Captain Koke goes off, handing the armband to Jan Oblak, with Saul Niguez replacing him in midfield.

Memphis Depay is the other player to come on with Alvaro Morata going off.

That's all five changes made now for Atletico. Barcelona are yet to look to their bench.

  7. Postpublished at 63 mins

    Barcelona 1-0 Atletico Madrid

Atletico had just 35% possession in the first half but they have seen much more of the ball 47% since coming out for the second half.

Whatever Diego Simeone said at the break has had an impact.

He also made three substitutions too.

  8. CLOSE!published at 62 mins

    Barcelona 1-0 Atletico Madrid

Alvaro Morata is the latest to have a chance for Atletico Madrid.

It's a low ball in from the right and Morata, who gets in front of Ronald Araujo, forces a save from Inaki Pena.

This is much-improved from the visitors.

Still just under half an hour to play but Barcelona are moving clear of Atletico Madrid into third as it stands.

    Barcelona 1-0 Atletico Madrid

Atletico hit back with a chance of their own.

Antoine Griezmann can only find the side netting after bursting into the box.

  11. CLOSE!published at 57 mins

    Barcelona 1-0 Atletico Madrid

Jules Kounde goes long with a ball to Raphinha and it just bounces away from the Brazilian and through into the hands of Jan Oblak.

Barcelona recycle possession and Raphinha dances past two challenges before drilling the ball off the base of the post.

    Oblak was well beaten.

  12. Postpublished at 55 mins

    Barcelona 1-0 Atletico Madrid

Barcelona are asking the referee to show a second yellow card to Cesar Azpilicueta.

But it's very ambitious as Joao Felix seems to be going down before taking any contact.

It's waved away and Diego Simeone has a wry smile on his face.

    Barcelona 1-0 Atletico Madrid

Much better from Barcelona as Frenkie de Jong has a shot.

The Dutchman's effort is blocked and Pedri tries to feed it back through but it's got too much pace on it.

Pretty comprehensive with the vote for whether we should let loan players face their parent club in England.

  15. Postpublished at 52 mins

    Barcelona 1-0 Atletico Madrid

It has been a slow start to this second half, a little bit more physical than what we saw in the first.

Barcelona venture forward for the first time but come up against a wall of red and white.

The hosts decide to play side to side and eventually drop back into their own half.

  16. YELLOW CARDpublished at 50 mins

    Barcelona 1-0 Atletico Madrid

The first card for a Barcelona player and it's Joao Felix.

A needless challenge is rightly punished by the referee.

    Felix is all-action tonight.

  17. Postpublished at 48 mins

    Barcelona 1-0 Atletico Madrid

Joao Felix stayed down for a while and needed a little bit of treatment there.

Felix and Azpilicueta would have been teammates at Chelsea last season and now they are adversaries.

I have a feeling that Azpilicueta might have his hands full as this game goes on.

  18. YELLOW CARDpublished at 47 mins

    Barcelona 1-0 Atletico Madrid

    Wow.

Cesar Azpilicueta came on for Jose Gimenez who had been shown a yellow card.

Former Chelsea defender Azpilicueta has just picked up a card of his own just two minutes in.

    Very silly.

  19. KICK-OFFpublished at 21:09 Greenwich Mean Time 3 December 2023

    Barcelona 1-0 Atletico Madrid

We are back under way with Atletico Madrid kicking off.

Diego Simeone has made three changes with Angel Correa, Cesar Azpilicueta and Samuel Lino coming on.

Rodrigo Riquelme, Nahuel Molina and Jose Gimenez go off.

    HT: Barcelona 1-0 Atletico Madrid

Joao Felix had only registered once in La Liga this season - opening the scoring in a 5-0 win against Real Betis in September - before coolly chipping in tonight.

He is on-loan at Barcelona from Atletico Madrid but his future with the capital-based club has been on the rocks for a while.

Felix spent the second half of last season on-loan at Chelsea before he was shipped out to Barcelona in the summer.

I do like the Spanish approach of letting players face their parent club and wish they'd employ that in England.

What do you think? Thumbs up for yes or thumbs down for no.
