  1. goal

GOAL: Leicester 2-0 Huddersfieldpublished at 16:09 Greenwich Mean Time 1 January

    Ricardo Pereira (47 mins)

    The captain delivers.

We have seen Ricardo Pereira score some beauties down the years, but not many with his head.

But here he guides one into the far corner from a cross from fellow full-back James Justin.

With that second, should we pencil this one in as win number 21 for Leicester?

  2. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 16:08 Greenwich Mean Time 1 January

    Norwich 0-0 Southampton

A very positive change from Russell Martin at the break as Scotland forward Che Adams is on in place of defender Jan Bednarek.

Southampton really have a strong Championship squad as they look to make it 18 games unbeaten.

  3. Postpublished at 16:06 Greenwich Mean Time 1 January

    Plymouth 3-2 Watford

Watford have won their last three games on the road and have been dangerous going forward, but vulnerable at the back.

However, a quick recap on some of Plymouth's previous home games this season:

    6-2 v Norwich

    3-3 v Middlesbrough

    3-2 v Rotherham

    3-3 v Birmingham

Should we really be surprised at how this one is playing out?

  4. goal

GOAL: Blackburn 2-1 Rotherhampublished at 16:06 Greenwich Mean Time 1 January

    Sammie Szmodics (46 mins)

    Number 16!

The Championship's leading marksman is on the scoresheet and restores Blackburn's lead.

Sammie Szmodics races onto a perfect pass in behind from James Hill, his first touch eases him beyond Viktor Johansson and it's a simple finish.

    Rovers back in the lead.

  5. SECOND HALFpublished at 16:04 Greenwich Mean Time 1 January

    Out they come then.

Whether it's been the teacups and hairdryer, or a nice calm cuppa and a jelly baby or two, we're ready for the second halves.

    Whistles blown. Off we go.

  6. 'A good reaction from Leeds'published at 16:00 Greenwich Mean Time 1 January

    HT: Leeds 2-0 Birmingham

    Aidy White
Former Leeds United full-back on BBC Radio Leeds

It's a good reaction from Leeds after two defeats in their last two away games.

It's nice to see Patrick Bamford get back on the scoresheet, he has had a great first-half.

  7. Wrexham score three in added timepublished at 15:59 Greenwich Mean Time 1 January

    League Two latest

What an incredible comeback from Wrexham!

They've scored in the ninth, 11th and 14th minutes of added time at the end of the first half to lead Barrow 3-1.

Steven Fletcher scored either side of a superb Paul Mullin free-kick.

  8. League Two half-time headlinespublished at 15:56 Greenwich Mean Time 1 January

    • Leaders Stockport are goalless with second-placed Mansfield at the break.
    • Accrington are 3-0 up against Salford, Jack Nolan from the spot for the first of his early brace.
    • Notts County came from behind to lead at Tranmere, Aaron Nemane and of course Macaulay Langstaff with the goals, but it is now 2-2 - Connor Jennings struck just before the interval.
    • Walsall have fought back at Grimsby to lead 2-1.
    • Jack Roles has put Crawley 2-0 up at home to Swindon.
    • Jack Muldoon scored just before the break for Harrogate to give them the lead at Morecambe.
    • There are 14 minutes stoppage time at Wrexham after a serious injury to Barrow's David Worrall which saw him stretchered off. Barrow took an early lead, but Wrexham drew level through Steven Fletcher in the ninth minute of added time.
  9. HALF-TIMEpublished at 15:54 Greenwich Mean Time 1 January

    Stoke 0-0 Ipswich

Stoke are shading things in the Potteries as they look to gel under Steven Schumacher.

Work to do for the Tractor Boys after the break.

    • Leaders Portsmouth are 2-1 up against Stevenage thanks to goals from Paddy Lane and Colby Bishop Former Pompey striker Louis Thompson had levelled for Stevenage.
    • Mark Harris scored his fourth goal of the season to bring Oxford United level at Charlton.
    • Wycombe lead Bristol Rovers and Blackpool lead Lincoln 1-0 at the break.
    • Reading are beating Exeter 2-1 thanks to an Alex Hartridge own goal just before the half-time whistle.
    • Shrewsbury lead Fleetwood 2-0 in Charlie Adam's first game in charge of the Cod Army.

  11. HALF-TIMEpublished at 15:53 Greenwich Mean Time 1 January

    Plymouth 3-2 Watford

    And breathe...

Incredible game in Devon where Plymouth lead after a half full of goals and chances with Ryan Hardie's strike just before the interval the difference.

Don't expect any let-up after the break!

  12. HALF-TIMEpublished at 15:52 Greenwich Mean Time 1 January

    Leicester 1-0 Huddersfield

Far from vintage from the Foxes, but Tom Cannon's first Leicester goal makes the difference.

Huddersfield will be determined to stick in there and see if they can nick something late on.

  13. HALF-TIMEpublished at 15:52 Greenwich Mean Time 1 January

    Leeds 2-0 Birmingham

Leeds look like they might just add to Wayne Rooney's agonies as they lead Birmingham at half-time.

Goals from Patrick Bamford - his first of the season - and from Dan James have given the Whites a welcome lead.

Birmingham have lacked a cutting edge, and Jay Stansfield's only contribution to the referee's notebook is a yellow card.

  14. HALF-TIMEpublished at 15:51 Greenwich Mean Time 1 January

    Norwich 0-0 Southampton

Jack Stephens' shot against the bar is the closest we have come to a goal from all their possession.

Will the Saints be able to find an extra gear after the break?

  15. 'Rooney must be so frustrated'published at 15:50 Greenwich Mean Time 1 January

    Leeds 2-0 Birmingham

    Aidy White
Former Leeds United full-back on BBC Radio Leeds

Leeds capitalised on a sloppy Birmingham mistake.

I saw Wayne Rooney kick something, he must be so frustrated. Going in 2-0 down rather than 1-0 down is a lot different.

  16. HALF-TIMEpublished at 15:50 Greenwich Mean Time 1 January

    QPR 0-1 Cardiff

That won't go down as one of the more taxing halves of football for Cardiff goalkeeper Jak Alnwick.

A stoop to gather Kenneth Paal's free-kick with both hands just before the break is about as much as Alnwick's needed to do in the first 45 minutes and Cardiff lead through that Dimitrios Goutas header.

  17. HALF-TIMEpublished at 15:49 Greenwich Mean Time 1 January

    Blackburn 1-1 Rotherham

Rotherham under Leam Richardson have found plenty of fighting spirit and it's been in evidence again here this afternoon.

Blackburn took the lead through Arnor Sigurdsson and have enjoyed plenty of chances to add to it.

However, Rotherham's skipper Sean Morrison has been a foil at one end and a scorer at the other, and along with Viktor Johansson in goal they've combined to deny Rovers.

All square, although it might have been even better for the Millers had Ollie Rathbone's effort hit the net not the bar.

  18. HALF-TIMEpublished at 15:49 Greenwich Mean Time 1 January

    Swansea 0-0 West Brom

Scoreless at the break, but West Brom seem to be getting closer as the first half draws to a close.

Conor Townsend set up a chance for Darnell Furlong just before the break, but the Swansea defence is holding firm for now as the players troop off in pouring rain.

  19. goal

GOAL: Leeds 2-0 Birminghampublished at 15:48 Greenwich Mean Time 1 January

    Dan James (45+1 mins)

Big goal for Leeds as Dan James doubles their lead against Birmingham.

Crysencio Summerville and Junior Firpo combined to open the visitors up down the right, and the latter's centre picked out James in the centre of the box for him to sidefoot home beyond John Ruddy.

Might have been a deflection in there, but it's James' goal.

  20. 'Injuries breaking up play'published at 15:48 Greenwich Mean Time 1 January

    Stockport 0-0 Mansfield

    Sanny Rudravajhala
    Reporting for 5 Live Sport

Three injuries in thirty minutes have taken the wind out of the sails of this context so far. That said, Stockport are starting to find their rhythm and have twice gone close.

Both sets of fans have drums, the Mansfield fans have so far been the louder but they’ve not been able to drive their team forward, who are looking to play on the break with Lucas Akins the target man after Rhys Oates went off injured.

We’ll have a lengthy amount of added time, let’s see if the deadlock can be broken.
