    Man City 2-0 Fluminense

City are pressing for a third, which would surely kill the game off.

Jack Grealish drives in-field and then dinks through for Phil Foden.

He's under pressure as he closes in on goal but does well to force a corner.

The players are going to take a "cooling break" before it is taken though.

"Champions again, ole, ole" rings out from the City fans in Jeddah.

    Nino (own goal)

A slice of fortune for Man City!

Phil Foden is sent through down the left-hand side of the area. His looks to cut back across goal and the sliding Nino can only deflect the ball into the far corner.

That is the second own goal that City have benefited from in the Club World Cup.

That possession has been forthcoming for Pep Guardiola's side.

Jack Grealish tries to jink past his marker and create a crossing opportunity but ends up laying off for Nathan Ake.

His cross is headed away by Marcelo, under pressure from Bernardo Silva, before Julian Alvarez's deflected shot is easily gathered.

    Man City 1-0 Fluminense

Bernardo Silva and Julian Alvarez work the free-kick short, before the latter has an effort blocked.

City get the ball back and look to rebuild though. They probably wouldn't mind a period of possession either at the moment.

    Man City 1-0 Fluminense

Jack Grealish is fouled as he looks to skip past his man on the left.

Decent crossing opportunity for City, this.

John Stones and Ruben Dias among those to go up.

    Man City 1-0 Fluminense

Fluminense have had 76% possession in the past 10 minutes according to an on-screen graphic.

We did see Pep Guardiola up from the City bench and animated as a cross-field piece cleared Jack Grealish moments ago.

    Man City 1-0 Fluminense

Fabio is taking some real risks with the ball at his feet in the Fluminense goal.

City are aware of it and are putting the press on as soon as the ball goes towards him.

I wouldn't rule out that bringing City some joy tonight.

    Penalty? No! Offside.

Ederson gifts the ball away as he looks to thread into midfield.

Ganso is sent through and rounds Ederson, who brings him down, and referee Szymon Marciniak initially gives a penalty before the offside flag goes up.

The technology confirms it was a good call. Tight though.

The song is 14 years old to be fair.

I would argue any song from a different decade could fit the retro tag.

Black Eyed Peas are retro? I must be old. Feel like City might lose this game.

    Man City 1-0 Fluminense

    Fluminense are fascinating to watch.

Fabio takes a heavy touch in goal, before fizzing a pass into midfield.

It's sent backwards and almost out for a goal kick before Marcelo starts flicking it over Kyle Walker and attempting to turn Rico Lewis down in the left-back role.

Alvarez being able to improvise like that just shows what a player he is.

    Man City 1-0 Fluminense

This is a really wide open game so far.

There's plenty of space for both sides to try and play their football.

Man City will enjoy that in an attacking sense, but they have struggled defensively in recent weeks.

Keno has a pop from range for Fluminense but it goes comfortably over the bar.

Just seen a replay of the goal and Fabio does get a hand on it to tip it onto the post initially. It's a brilliant save and he's a bit unlucky it has fallen for Julian Alvarez.

The Argentine has work to do still, though. He's initially stooping for a header but has to get even lower to chest in.

    Man City 1-0 Fluminense

Perhaps what is more remarkable, it's not even City's quickest goal of 2023 in a final!

Ilkay Gundogan's volley against Manchester United in the FA Cup final would have taken some beaten at 13 seconds to be fair.

It's all City so far. Fluminense are trying to play out from the back in very risky fashion.

You won't be surprised to know that Julian Alvarez's goal in the quickest in Club World Cup finals.

It came within the first minute - still waiting for an official time but roughly 43 seconds in I reckon.

    The improvisation!

The reaction from Alvarez is wonderful. What a start to the game.

    Julian Alvarez

    WHAT A START!!!

Marcelo, at left-back for Fluminense, tries a cross-field pass but Nathan Ake is able to intercept.

He's got acres of space to run into so does, before curling a left-footed effort against the post.

Julian Alvarez is quickest to react and chests into the empty net, while he's on his hands and knees about seven yards out.

There's appeals for offside but Alvarez is comfortably onside.
