Darwin Nunez was right behind him and arguably the better option to shoot.

Now it is Alexis Mac Allister's turn to feel aggrieved as he is penalised for a foul and Fulham have a free-kick.

Andreas Pereira's delivery is headed behind, before the corner is hooked away by Conor Bradley.

Tom Cairney is saying to the referee 'how am I supposed to follow through', his feet do come off the floor and it is reckless.

Cairney slips a little bit and the yellow card is the right decision.

There's a break in play here as Alexis Mac Allister needs treatment after he is caught by Tom Cairney.

Cairney can't believe it is a Liverpool free-kick, and will be even more aggreived as he is also shown a yellow card.

Joe Gomez is desperate to get that elusive goal, so much so he has an ambitious pop from way out. To be fair, the strike is well hit but Tosin Adarabioyo is in the way.

It is a lot to do but if Fulham can get a goal back before half-time then it will make for an interesting second half.

Jurgen Klopp will be desperate for his side to get another and really put the game beyond the hosts.

Fulham have rediscovered their confidence and come forward again, Virgil van Dijk making a crucial clearance at his near post from a cross.

My first impression was there is slight contact but Raul Jimenez is looking to go down.

Raul Jimenez goes down inside the box after a slight tug on his shirt, referee Simon Hooper is unmoved but Fulham keep up the attack as Willian drives a decent effort straight at Caoimhin Kelleher.

Liverpool breaking on Fulham and Luis Diaz has a tame finish on goal at Bernd Leno.

At the other end there is a real lack of conviction from Raul Jimenez. He had the opportunity to cross the ball in and there was a lack of confidence to pick out Bobby Decordova-Reid.

Liverpool should do better as they charge forward with five players versus four but the end result is disappointing as Luis Diaz hits a weak effort at Bernd Leno.

There was no doubt about that offside, but a reminder that there is no VAR in this tie, even though it is two Premier League teams involved.

Fulham build a rare attack as Willian lofts the ball into the box from a short throw. Bobby Decordova-Reid is under it but his first touch sees the ball bounce away from him and the opportunity is gone.

There's a couple of groans from frustrated Fulham fans as Antonee Robinson is a bit slow to react to a Liverpool player closing in on him.
