  1. 'Doubt will kick in for Kalvin Phillips if he doesn't play regularly'published at 13:18 Greenwich Mean Time 11 February

West Ham v Arsenal (14:00 GMT)

    Nedum Onuoha
Former Manchester City defender on BBC Radio 5 Live

I think there is a conversation Gareth Southgate has had with Kalvin Phillips to make his decision. Is he someone who can have a career not playing for his club but play for his country for the next few years, probably not.

If he's not playing, some level of psychological doubt that would kick in. Now he's at West Ham and not playing, he will be thinking why when he's looking at those playing in his place.

  2. 'Declan Rice will want to have a good game today'published at 13:15 Greenwich Mean Time 11 February

West Ham v Arsenal (14:00 GMT)

    Michael Brown
Former Tottenham midfielder on BBC Radio 5 Live

It was a fantastic signing, everyone looked with interest. I think Declan Rice was a good servant and could've pushed to leave earlier, but he left on a good moment. He will want to come and get a result and try and help Arsenal cement a title challenge. It's a great game for him.

You'd have to try and get into his head, give him a few niggles and support around you, because what he does is drive a whole game around him. I think he can grab it from all round, he's an all-round player. If I'm a West Ham player, you have to stand right on top of him.

England midfielder Kalvin Phillips says his time at Manchester City was "stressful" - and his loan move to West Ham has made him feel "more alive".

The 28-year-old made only six starts for Pep Guardiola's side following a £42m switch from Leeds in 2022.

His City spell included criticism from the manager over his weight - which Phillips said knocked his confidence.

"Now I'm here at West Ham and playing, I feel a lot more alive," he said, following his January move south.

"I still loved the game, it just changed my way of thinking a little bit," Phillips told the Observer., external

"The game wasn't letting me down but the fact I had nothing to look forward to kind of pushed me away.

"Now I'm here at West Ham and playing, I feel a lot more alive. It's not starting from scratch, it's starting afresh."

West Ham are tough to beat on home soil, with only Manchester City and Everton having left the London Stadium with victories in 16 matches in all competitions this season.

“We’ve beaten Manchester United, Arsenal, Chelsea this season," said Hammers boss David Moyes.

"We’re giving the top teams a game and hopefully we can do the same on Sunday.

"Our home form has been pretty good in the main this season and hopefully we can keep it up.”

Mikel Arteta: 'I love it' when asked about celebrating wins with Arsenal

Mikel Arteta says he will continue to show emotion despite being criticised for over-celebrating Arsenal's 3-1 win over Premier League leaders Liverpool.

Arteta sprinted down the touchline when his side scored, before saluting fans with fist pumps at the end of Sunday's crucial game as the Gunners moved two points behind Jurgen Klopp's men.

Sky Sports pundit Gary Neville said there was a "little bit of immaturity" in Arsenal's celebrations.

Arteta said: "Personally, I love it."

"It brings such a passion and emotion to the game when it's done in a natural and unique way," added the Spaniard.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has made two changes to his side from the team that were 3-1 winners over Liverpool a week ago.

Having already lost twice to the West Ham United this season, the Gunners will look to avenge those losses today. Leandro Trossard and Jakub Kiwior start in place of Jorginho and Oleksandr Zinchenko.

Zinchenko and Emile Smith Rowe are absent from the squad.

Arsenal: Raya; White, Saliba, Gabriel, Kiwior; Odegaard, Rice; Saka, Trossard, Martinelli; Havertz

Subs: Ramsdale, Cedric, Bandeira, Walters, Elneny, Nelson, Jorginho, Nketiah, Nwaneri

  7. 'Jorginho and Rice double pivot needs to change'published at 12:58 Greenwich Mean Time 11 February

West Ham v Arsenal (14:00 GMT)

    Julien Laurens
French football expert on BBC Radio 5 Live

I think the Jorginho and Declan Rice double pivot works in certain games, but not others, David Moyes isn't necessarily my cup of tea but I don't think it's the best option for Arsenal today. I think in terms of momentum, keep the same 11, I'm just not sure the double pivot against West Ham, what you'd expect today, is the right move.

Arsenal are hoping to make it third time lucky against West Ham after losing their two previous encounters with them this season.

The Hammers knocked Mikel Arteta's side out of the League Cup in November and then won at the Emirates the following month.

  9. 'Arsenal will carry on their celebrations'published at 12:52 Greenwich Mean Time 11 February

West Ham v Arsenal (14:00 GMT)

West Ham beat Arsenal at the Emirates at the end of December, when the Gunners huffed and puffed but just could not score.

The Hammers will have exactly the same approach at home, looking to sit in and counter, and using their threat at set-pieces too.

This time, though, I think Arsenal will find a way through - and carry on their celebrations.

Mikel Arteta's side will have a point to prove after what happened last time against West Ham, but their motivation here is more about the fact they have just put themselves in the thick of the title race, and they cannot afford to slip up.

West Ham last did the double over the Gunners in the 2006-07 season, and I think they will have to wait a bit longer to do it again.

    Prediction: 0-2

  10. How things look in the tablepublished at 12:49 Greenwich Mean Time 11 February

All four sides in action today sit in the top half of the table.

Arsenal can't move up a place with a win today but they would go level on points with Manchester City and just two behind leaders Liverpool.

Victory for West Ham could send them up to sixth, depending on Manchester United's result against fifth-placed Aston Villa.

There's no doubt that Arsenal's win against Liverpool last-time out was a significant result in the title race.

It keeps them firmly in the hunt but the Gunners' celebrations the win prompted has been the subject of plenty of debate since.

However you feel about them, there's undoubtedly more scrutiny on Arsenal now as they look to follow up the win over the Premier League leaders with a result against West Ham today.
