  1. Palmer set for a rare Etihad startpublished at 17:09 Greenwich Mean Time 17 February

Chelsea’s Cole Palmer jogged out to start his warm-up a few minutes ago, something he did a fair few times at the Etihad when he was at Manchester City of course.

But, apart from the fact he is playing for the opposition today, the other big difference about this appearance is that he won’t be starting the game on the bench.

Palmer made 20 first-team appearances here for City, but only six of them were starts, and only two came in the Premier League. Last season alone, he was an unused sub at 11 home games.

One of those Etihad starts was pretty memorable, though… it came against - you guessed it - Chelsea in May 2023 and he set up Julian Alvarez’s winner on a day where City were celebrating their third successive league title.

That was the first PL assist of Palmer's career, but he has racked up a few more since then, wearing a darker shade of blue.

Wolves winger Pedro Neto speaking after the win over Tottenham: "It was a really difficult game and it is really difficult to play a team that is playing well. We did really well to get three points in the end."

On conceding so soon after the restart: "We already spoke about going to the ball and not allow the other team in our box. We know we had opportunities on the counter and we killed the game which is really good."

On Joao Gomes' brace: "He deserves it. What a player. The way he works and the way he plays. It is special for him, he deserves it."

On the progress Wolves have made under Gary O'Neil: "The way that we are going, the way that we are now, people can see the value we have and we are happy."

Aston Villa hold on for a valuable three points that takes them back into the Champions League places.

The Fulham players and fans are not happy at all with referee Lewis Smith but it was a lacklustre first-half showing that cost them.

Ollie Watkins scored either side of the break for Unai Emery's side and although Fulham got one back through Rodrigo Muniz, they were unable to force an equaliser.

    Fulham 1-2 Aston Villa

Adama Traore is very lucky to still be on the pitch.

Moments after getting booked he foul John McGinn, gets in the ear of the Villa skipper for a few words and then throws the ball at him.

Somehow he avoids a second yellow.

Tottenham's first Premier League defeat of 2024.

You could argue they've rode their luck somewhat in recent weeks, but not today.

Spurs lose further ground on the leaders and their spot in the top four because of Aston Villa's win.

Wolves were organised, clinical and deserving of the win.

Last chance saloon for Spurs. Five minutes of injury time is over. Into added time of added time.

Brennan Johnson runs into trouble on the right and then a cross is wastefully slung in.

Dominic Solanke charges down towards goal but Newcastle get players back just in time to crowd the striker out inside the box.

    Fulham 1-2 Aston Villa

Huge chance for Fulham to equalise in stoppage time!

Rodrigo Muniz weights the through pass perfectly into the path of Adama Traore.

He has just the goalkeeper to beat but Emi Martinez comes out to make a vital stop for Aston Villa.

    Was that Fulham's last chance?

There is then a bit of a argy-bargy on the touchline with Villa feeling they should have had a free-kick prior to the chance for a foul on Moussa Diaby.

Tottenham back on the front foot as we are well into five minutes of injury time.

Timo Werner, and 60,000 others, appeals for a penalty but the referee quickly shakes his head.

Then this is the chance! Ben Davies heads wide with a poor connection.

    Tottenham 1-2 Wolves

Oh, what a goal this would have been!

Pedro Neto, who has been excellent for Wolves, goes for a spectacular volley but gets it all wrong. That goes into the stand near the corner flag.

Tottenham have really not created enough today.

Half a chance falls to Ben Davies following a corner, but his header lacks power and is gathered safely by Jose Sa.

Despite the frustrations of the home fans, nobody is leaving here. They know you can't rule out their side until the final whistle.

    Ask Brighton.

  20. YELLOW CARDpublished at 16:52 Greenwich Mean Time 17 February

    Fulham 1-2 Aston Villa

Fulham keep pushing for an equaliser and they are furious not to be given a corner when Rodrigo Muniz's shot on the spin quite clearly deflects wide off Matty Cash.

Timothy Castagne is booked for his protests.
