Re. Si at 18:53. Fair point, but it's easy to keep the ball from your opponents and edge a one goal win. The point many people are making is that City are much heralded as being better than that. Lots of flair, for sure, but not that visible lately.

That's it for Erling Haaland. No goal for him today but it was his shot that led to Phil Foden's opener.
Julian Alvarez is on in his place.

Erling Haaland drives in on goal, he evades one challenge but then his shot is denied by Neto.

Phil Foden does well to spot Mateo Kovacic racing towards the edge of the area. Kovacic shoots first time and it deflects wide for another Manchester City corner.

Perfect timing from Ederson [save].
Bournemouth are certainly asking a lot more questions of the City defence in this second half and playing much better in this second 45.

Bournemouth make a double change as on come Dango Ouattara and Alex Scott for Marcus Tavernier and Justin Kluivert.
They are looking to capitalise on this good spell they've enjoyed.

Folk keep moaning that City are dull/predictable. City get results. Can you imagine how dull their matches would be if, instead, they adopted the same tactics as most of their opponents and BOTH sides parked the bus?!

So close to the equaliser!
Dominic Solanke gets up to meet a corner and looks certain to head in but Ederson punches off the line.

Three defenders are straight on to Jeremy Doku as he has his first touch of the ball. It is a lot for Doku to do but he still wins Manchester City a corner.
Antoine Semenyo heads away the delivery from the set piece.

Man City play classy football. It is not their fault that opponents can't get ball off them. It's 11v11... just one team is incredibly good at it.

Bournemouth just need to stay solid at the back, and keep plugging away when they get an opportunity to get the ball into City's final third/penalty area. City have so many options off the bench, yes, but I just don't know, they've STILL not kicked into gear, and until then teams have a chance of causing an upset.

Pep Guardiola is preparing to make a change soon with Jeremy Doku getting ready to come on.
There's a heck of a lot of game-changing talent on that Manchester City bench.

You thought Dominic Solanke was going to be the one getting the touch in on goal but it fell to Marcus Taveneir who just fluffed his finish a bit, just scuffed it, not getting a good strike on it.
It has certainly brought the home crowd to life.
Bournemouth 0-1 Man City
Bournemouth are enjoying a good spell now but can they make it count?
Marcus Tavernier goes close again as his drive is just wide of the far post.
