Promising start from Bournemouth after the break.

Coming out and having a bit more of a test of this City side, asking a few more questions and seeing if they can find a way to find that breakthrough to get back on level terms.

Bournemouth attack again, this time Justin Kluivert driving through the middle but his shot is straight at Ederson.

Milos Kerkez is wasteful with his delivery after a good attack by Bournemouth. His cross to the far post is overhit and goes out for a goal kick.

Bournemouth have made a positive start to this second half but Manchester City's defensive shape is leaving them few options when they get into the final third.

Looking at the benches and trying to think what Bournemouth could do to tweak one or two things and my eye is drawn to the City bench - there's just so much strength there to make changes.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Pep Guardiola do that at some point, even if the score stays at 1-0.

It'd be great for the game if Bournemouth can get the next goal

Burnley

Burnley manager Vincent Kompany speaking to Sky Sports. “We really can’t afford to go down to 10 men in the first half. It was a tough one to take. After that it is difficult to summarise the game.

“We are going to have to pick ourselves up and go for the next game. It takes courage and some serious inner belief. I can understand outside the group there will be an idea that this is over but that can’t live in the group. It is a moment where you have to get yourself back up.

“I thought we were building into the game nicely even before the red card. You go down to 10 men in a massive, massive game and after that it is those moments that punish you.”

Aston Villa

Aston Villa winger Leon Bailey speaking to Match of the Day: "It was a good start for us, obviously our performances have not been great at home, but going 3-0 up gave us loads of confidence."

On attacking Forest down the right: "It's just in our game plan, sometimes from the right side, sometimes the left. There was a lot of space on the right, I was trying to utilise my speed and quality in there."

On his performance: "I feel good, obviously I've been working on being more consistent. The work is paying off, I am really happy, and that is what makes me really confidence I can showcase my talent."

On finishing in the top four: "That's the goal for us, we want to be in the Champions League next season. They key is to be consistent and take it step by step.

On their poor start to 2024 at home: "It was very important for us to leave it in the past as the Premier League is a difficult league. But it's so fast you can turn things around."

Burnley

“It’s moments. Second phase of a corner and then the penalty. It is difficult to make a proper assessment because we go down to 10-men early. There was not much in the game. It goes like this and we will have to pick ourselves up again.

“Sometimes you work your way into the game. They have a new manager and that momentum and we dealt with it ok. The moment you go down to 10 it is a difficult task.”

Crystal Palace

Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner speaking to BBC Match of the Day: “We played a brilliant first half. We were very dominant and created chances and then I said okay, stay patient and we will create our chances and congratulations to the players they did it fantastic and deserve all the credit.

“Sometimes the players forget about keeping the balance in the game but how we forced the red card was brilliant and we attacked very high. It was really nice to see. We had a great spirit from the beginning and the players tried to do everything that the analysts prepared for them. Also thank you to my staff because we were only here for three days.

“My feeling was the fans were happy to see the players attacking and fighting, they were very loud, this is what we want. They had a great afternoon and now they can go somewhere in a pub and enjoy one or two beers."

Brighton & Hove Albion

Brighton defender Lewis Dunk after capping his 400th league appearance for the club with a stoppage-time leveller against Everton:

“Mixed emotions – we are frustrated not to win. I think we dominated the game, I don’t know what they had other than the goal? T (Tariq Lamptey) cleared one off the line but that was probably their two chances.

“Against them, defending set-pieces is tough, that’s what they are good at but we have to kill games off when we are dominating them and we’ve been speaking about that for a while now.

“That’s the next step we have to make but the character we showed when going down to 10 men was outstanding and to come back and get a draw was massive.

“I said after the win at Sheffield United that we had a massive six, seven, eight games coming up that could define our season and hopefully today was a massive point."

Everton

Everton boss Sean Dyche to BBC Match of the Day after his side were denied victory by Brighton's stoppage-time equaliser at the Amex:

“We got in at half-time in pretty good shape, I was pretty pleased with the performance and then second half was a really good away performance, never giving up too much, looking a threat and then we scored the goal.

"But inevitably they get nine minutes [stoppage time] and everyone is wondering where that came from and the crowd get a lift and they have freedom to throw things forward. If anything, we should have kept the ball better and the final moment, you’ve always got to stop a cross.

“Beto has a chance to seal the game late on, I don’t know whether he stumbles but he doesn’t strike it cleanly - these are the defining moments and we haven’t quite found them over the past run of games, yet the performances have been very good and strong which I thought a lot of the game today was.

“It’s an easy thing to say, why aren’t your strikers scoring, why don’t you make them score? If it was that easy we’d all have strikers who are scoring 25 a season wouldn’t we?"

Brighton & Hove Albion

Brighton boss Roberto De Zerbi to BBC Match of the Day after his 10-man Seagulls rescued a stoppage-time draw against relegation-battling Everton:

“Everton are a very good team but we played very well and I think we deserved to win. We have a big respect for the opponent always but I have to be honest and I think we played much better and we created more chances to score.

“But we are playing with a lot of, too many, injuries, especially in attack and we are losing a lot of important points and places in the table and I am frustrated for it because we have eight or nine draws – if you analyse these draws you can see how many times we deserved to win.

“I am frustrated because our table could be different if you analyse the quality of the games, how many chances we created in respect of the opponent – today was like Fulham, Burnley, Sheffield United.

“Today we made a lot of mistakes in the last 20 metres, we had many chances to score and we lost another two points."
