The smell of smoke in the air and a haze across the view here as the home fans let off orange and green pyro. My seat is shaking beneath me as the home fans bounce and dance in pure joy!

  6. 'Terrible defending'published at 21:27 Greenwich Mean Time 11 February

    Nigeria 1-1 Ivory Coast

    Efan Ekoku
Former Nigeria striker on BBC Three

It's a free header and it shouldn't be, that's awful defending. It's Bassey who has not picked up Kessie, ball-watching until it's too late. The goalkeeper doesn't cover himself in glory. Terrible defending all-round, it goes through his hands.

Kessie is fortunate to be on the pitch after that elbow and he's come up with the goal.

  7. goal

GOAL - Nigeria 1-1 Ivory Coastpublished at 21:24 Greenwich Mean Time 11 February

    Franck Kessie

    Bedlam in Abidjan!

The tournament hosts are back level as poor marking allows Franck Kessie to head his country back into the final.

Kessie is about eight yards out but he is totally unmarked.

99% of the fans inside the stadium don't care about Nigeria's defensive issues. They're jumping for joy.

  8. 'Too long left for Nigeria to just defend'published at 21:23 Greenwich Mean Time 11 February

    Nigeria 1-0 Ivory Coast

    Efan Ekoku
Former Nigeria striker on BBC Three

There's too long left in this game for defensive thoughts to come into the minds of the Nigerian players. It would be hard for Nigeria to put those thoughts out of their minds, but that is where the coaching staff have to do their work. Brave coaches will find ways to give their team freedom to take the game away from their opponents.

  9. Postpublished at 21:23 Greenwich Mean Time 11 February

    Nigeria 1-0 Ivory Coast

Another chance for Les Elephants but Franck Kessie's header lacks power.

We've reached the hour mark. Expect Ivory Coast to throw more bodies forward as the clock ticks down.

  10. 'Adingra's threat is clear'published at 21:22 Greenwich Mean Time 11 February

    Nigeria 1-0 Ivory Coast

    Efan Ekoku
Former Nigeria striker on BBC Three

Perhaps the introduction of Moses Simon is that he can defend, despite being a wide midfielder and the threat of Adingra on that side is clear.

  11. Postpublished at 21:21 Greenwich Mean Time 11 February

    Nigeria 1-0 Ivory Coast

The hosts are being restricted to pot shots from distance. Jean Michael Seri is the latest to have a go. It's not bad but it doesn't trouble Nigeria's keeper.

  12. 'Electric atmosphere'published at 21:20 Greenwich Mean Time 11 February

Newsbeat's Shaun Dacosta at 44lounge in Birmingham:

The atmosphere is absolutely electric - it felt like the roof had come off the bar when Nigeria scored and that's not deterred the Ivory Coast fans who are still waving their flags proudly.

The queue to get into the screening went down the entire street and it’s so full the gates are now locked.

At half-time it's erupted with music and fans of both teams are still up singing and dancing as the second half gets underway.

  13. 'Chukwueze has been very quiet'published at 21:19 Greenwich Mean Time 11 February

    Nigeria 1-0 Ivory Coast

    Efan Ekoku
Former Nigeria striker on BBC Three

Chukwueze is a player that needs more freedom, perhaps he has felt very shackled. He's been very quiet in this game.

  14. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 21:19 Greenwich Mean Time 11 February

    Nigeria 1-0 Ivory Coast

    First switch of the final.

Moses Simon is coming on for Nigeria. Samuel Chukwueze has been replaced.

  15. 'No need for Nwabali to get involved'published at 21:18 Greenwich Mean Time 11 February

    Nigeria 1-0 Ivory Coast

    Efan Ekoku
Former Nigeria striker on BBC Three

There's no need for Nwabali to get involved there. The situation was virtually diffused already. No recipes exchanged between Nwabali and Aurier, just venom.

  16. YELLOW CARDpublished at 21:17 Greenwich Mean Time 11 February

    Nigeria 1-0 Ivory Coast

Tempers are rising after that incident involving Gradel and Sanusi. Nigeria keeper Stanley Nwabali and Les Elephants captain Serge Aurier are both shown yellow cards.

  17. 'It's a no-yes'published at 21:16 Greenwich Mean Time 11 February

    Nigeria 1-0 Ivory Coast

    Efan Ekoku
Former Nigeria striker on BBC Three

In my mind, it's a no-yes. I think Gradel was already on his way down.

  18. Postpublished at 21:16 Greenwich Mean Time 11 February

    Nigeria 1-0 Ivory Coast

Max Gradel goes down under a challenge from Zaidu Sanusi. Ivory Coast fans want a penalty but the referee is not interested. It looked outside the box anyway.

  19. 'Great from Adingra'published at 21:13 Greenwich Mean Time 11 February

    Nigeria 1-0 Ivory Coast

    Efan Ekoku
Former Nigeria striker on BBC Three

Great touch, pace and composure from Simon Adingra, it's a brilliant cross but no one is running across, Haller doesn't get there. Sometimes you need some luck in those situations.

  20. CLOSE!published at 21:13 Greenwich Mean Time 11 February

    Nigeria 1-0 Ivory Coast

    So close to an equaliser!

A lovely ball into the danger area by Simon Adingra is cleared by Stanley Nwabali straight to Max Gradel whose fierce strike is heading for the net before it hits Calvin Bassey.
