    Nigeria 1-0 Ivory Coast

This is interesting. A free kick to Ivory Coast just outside the box but out wide after Max Gradel is clipped. It's headed clear but not convincingly.

  2. 'Fae can change fortunes'published at 21:10 Greenwich Mean Time 11 February

    Nigeria 1-0 Ivory Coast

    Kolo Toure
Former Ivory Coast & Arsenal defender Kolo Toure on BBC Three

Emerse Fae has made brilliant changes in games at this tournament and I believe he can definitely do that again in this second half.

  3. Postpublished at 21:09 Greenwich Mean Time 11 February

    Nigeria 1-0 Ivory Coast

Ivory Coast are taking the game to the Super Eagles but a needless on Victor Osimhen gifts possession back to Nigeria.

  4. 'Nigeria can still score again'published at 21:08 Greenwich Mean Time 11 February

    Nigeria 1-0 Ivory Coast

    Nedum Onuoha
Former Manchester City defender on BBC Three

I think there will be an element of desperation the longer time passes, but there's still scope to score another goal. Be clinical and there's a chance to win another trophy.

    Back under way.

  6. Postpublished at 21:06 Greenwich Mean Time 11 February

    HT: Nigeria 1-0 Ivory Coast

The players of the Ivory Coast are first to emerge for the start of the second half. A huge 45 minutes coming up for the hosts. They have to go for it.

Plenty of African football royalty around me. Former Arsenal and Portsmouth forward Kanu has been dancing since the Nigeria goal, ex Everton striker Daniel Amokachi has just mopped his brow given the intense humidity, and former Tottenham defender Sebastian Bassong has just pinched some of the sweets I brought in!

  8. 'Ivory Coast need numbers in the box'published at 21:04 Greenwich Mean Time 11 February

    HT: Nigeria 1-0 Ivory Coast

    Kolo Toure
Former Ivory Coast & Arsenal defender Kolo Toure on BBC Three

We know Nigeria want to be in their own half and hit on the transition. Ivory Coast need more numbers in the box to attack the ball, the midfielder, winger and striker. Nigeria have three giants at the back and it's impossible to beat them without getting men in the area.

For each time Troost-Ekong touches the ball his value increases by one million. What a defender and captain he is!

  10. 'Ivory Coast can be happy with decisions'published at 21:02 Greenwich Mean Time 11 February

    HT: Nigeria 1-0 Ivory Coast

    Kolo Toure
Former Ivory Coast & Arsenal defender Kolo Toure on BBC Three

The referee will do his job professionally, but Ivory Coast can be happy with how the decisions have gone.

  11. 'Nigeria will feel like it's going against them'published at 21:01 Greenwich Mean Time 11 February

    HT: Nigeria 1-0 Ivory Coast

    Nedum Onuoha
Former Manchester City defender on BBC Three

The atmosphere is good in Ivory Coast's favour, it feels like it has gone against Nigeria with the atmosphere. Nigeria have scored, but they will be disappointed with the decisions that have gone against them. Ivory Coast got lucky with the Kessie elbow. Overall, it's been fair.

  12. 'Ivory Coast are still in it'published at 21:00 Greenwich Mean Time 11 February

    HT: Nigeria 1-0 Ivory Coast

    Kolo Toure
Former Ivory Coast & Arsenal defender Kolo Toure on BBC Three

Only one player in the box for Ivory Coast, Gradel could have scored that chance. Adingra does what he can do with his chance, but it's a great save.

I think Fofana and Kessie have to run into the space, movement will attract the Nigerian defence to come out. Adingra can take two or three players on, Gradel can cross but at the minute, it's not working. As far as the game goes, Ivory Coast are still there.

  13. 'Dangerous from Kessie'published at 20:59 Greenwich Mean Time 11 February

    HT: Nigeria 1-0 Ivory Coast

    Efan Ekoku
Former Nigeria striker on BBC Three

That's not what you call a coming together, it's a deliberate elbow, dangerous from Franck Kessie. Kessie is a very lucky boy.

  14. Postpublished at 20:58 Greenwich Mean Time 11 February

    HT: Nigeria 1-0 Ivory Coast

Moments before half-time there was an incident involving Franck Kessie and Zaidu Sanusi. Kessie appeared to deliberately stop Sanusi as the Nigeria player looked like bursting clear yet the referee did not show a card.

  15. 'A brilliant header'published at 20:56 Greenwich Mean Time 11 February

    Nigeria 1-0 Ivory Coast

    Nedum Onuoha
Former Manchester City defender on BBC Three

From a Ivory Coast point of view, it's bad luck but it's a brilliant header for the goal. Troost-Ekong hadn't gone into the half because of how Nigeria defend but the goal doesn't even come from a good set-piece.

Nigeria centre-back and captain William Troost-Ekong has scored three goals at this year's Afcon. That's one more than he managed during his whole 68 appearances in three seasons at Watford.

  17. 'Not an open final'published at 20:54 Greenwich Mean Time 11 February

    HT: Nigeria 1-0 Ivory Coast

    Nedum Onuoha
Former Manchester City defender on BBC Three

It's not open, but as a final you wouldn't expect it to be. Realistically, Nigeria are playing a back five and two sixes, they look a bit one dimensional but it's all about not falling under pressure.

  18. Postpublished at 20:53 Greenwich Mean Time 11 February

    HT: Nigeria 1-0 Ivory Coast

Nigeria's players stayed out on the pitch and went into a huddle after the half-time whistle. They can be well pleased with that first half performance. It's all going their way but Ivory Coast are sure to come back at them in the second half.

  19. HALF-TIMEpublished at 20:51 Greenwich Mean Time 11 February

    Nigeria 1-0 Ivory Coast

Nigeria have one hand on the prize.

  20. 'Nigeria should be happy'published at 20:49 Greenwich Mean Time 11 February

    Nigeria 1-0 Ivory Coast

    Efan Ekoku
Former Nigeria striker on BBC Three

Jose Peseiro will be pleased so far, he couldn't have asked for too much more from his players. There's been a couple of sloppy passes, but in football, it's never going to be perfect.
