This is the first real threatening attack from the Super Eagles, they've managed to burn off some of those early nerves.

Former England Under-21 international Ademola Lookman is a real handful. He's surrounded by a couple of orange shirts but still manages to win his side a free-kick.

One of Nigeria's most dangerous attacking threats.

  3. 'Ambitious from Gradel'published at 20:23 Greenwich Mean Time 11 February

    Nigeria 0-0 Ivory Coast

    Efan Ekoku
Former Nigeria striker on BBC Three

Ambitious from Gradel and of course, if it comes off, it's fantastic. Nigeria are able to see that one off.

  4. Postpublished at 20:23 Greenwich Mean Time 11 February

    Nigeria 0-0 Ivory Coast

We could do with a goal to really ratchet this showpiece up. Zaidu Sanusi gets it all wrong with a defensive header intended for his keeper and Ivory Coast have a corner.

It ends with Max Gradel attempting an acrobatic kick which flies into the side netting.

Afcon has been a revelation for football - I hope the World Cup organising committee over here have been making notes. They could learn a thing or two from this polished tournament.

Nigeria are enjoying their first decent spell of pressure and Ademola Lookman pings in a cross which is headed clear. Ivory Coast have six across the back each time Nigeria attack.

Ben Shekari: Ivory Coast will use the crowd to their advantage. We will use the cloud cos we are the flying eagles.

Neil has mentioned its a cauldron of noise and that's the perfect description. There's a group of home fans bedecked in orange rhythmically banging what I can only describe as inflatable drumsticks. Yes, really. All in perfect time, while roaring the team forward as well. Heck of an atmosphere

  9. 'Good cross from Aina'published at 20:15 Greenwich Mean Time 11 February

    Nigeria 0-0 Ivory Coast

    Efan Ekoku
Former Nigeria striker on BBC Three

Great cross from Max Gradel, that could have ricocheted to anyone if it wasn't cleared properly from Ola Aina.

Lovely cross by Max Gradel before Seko Fofana tests Stanley Nwabali.

It's all Ivory Coast. Nigeria have their backs against the wall.

  11. 'A good tempo'published at 20:13 Greenwich Mean Time 11 February

    Nigeria 0-0 Ivory Coast

    Efan Ekoku
Former Nigeria striker on BBC Three

There is a good tempo, I wonder how long this pace will continue. Maybe it will end pretty quickly because of the pressure.

  12. Postpublished at 20:13 Greenwich Mean Time 11 February

Drums, trumpets and many other musical instruments in the crowd. And now boos from the stands as Nigeria drive into the Ivory Coast half through Ademola Lookman.

  13. 'Fofana is a real handful'published at 20:12 Greenwich Mean Time 11 February

    Nigeria 0-0 Ivory Coast

    Efan Ekoku
Former Nigeria striker on BBC Three

Seko Fofana is a real handful to deal with in the middle of the park, his ability to deal with players is impressive, but he is up against a great player in Onyeka.

  14. Postpublished at 20:11 Greenwich Mean Time 11 February

    Nigeria 0-0 Ivory Coast

There's a good tempo about Ivory Coast. Play is stopped to allow Franck Kessie to receive treatment after a hefty challenge deep inside Nigeria's half.

The Super Eagles have been on the back-foot from the kick off.

  15. 'A great cross'published at 20:10 Greenwich Mean Time 11 February

    Nigeria 0-0 Ivory Coast

    Efan Ekoku
Former Nigeria striker on BBC Three

That ball comes into a great area, that kind of cross at that height really should not be coming across the goalkeeper.

  16. Postpublished at 20:09 Greenwich Mean Time 11 February

    Nigeria 0-0 Ivory Coast

First decent chance and it falls for the hosts. Sebastien Haller is not far away as Simon Adingra produces a teasing delivery into the box. That's a wake up call for Nigeria.

  17. Postpublished at 20:08 Greenwich Mean Time 11 February

    Nigeria 0-0 Ivory Coast

It's a been a sweltering day in Abidjan. Temperatures have peaked at around 33c and although they have dipped slightly, the final kicked off in 30c heat. Sweat is already dripping off the players.

I've loved Afcon. Such a good vibe: the sounds, the atmosphere, the rhythm. Everything I fell in love with football for. I hope the players can bring some of that back to their club football.

  19. Postpublished at 20:05 Greenwich Mean Time 11 February

    Nigeria 0-0 Ivory Coast

A cagey start by both teams. Les Elephants have carried more of an attacking threat. Sebastien Haller challenges for a ball in the penalty area but keeper Stanley Nwabali gathers comfortably.

  20. '50-50 game'published at 20:04 Greenwich Mean Time 11 February

    Nigeria 0-0 Ivory Coast

    Efan Ekoku
Former Nigeria striker on BBC Three

I really do think this is a 50-50 game, you can put the group stage match that Nigeria won 1-0 to bed. A typical group stage game, two teams that expected to go far, a bit cagey and them feeling each other out.
