Nothing comes of that corner or the period of play that follows.

United are holding most of the ball and passing it around Brighton's half. The visitors have mostly been held back so far.

    Arsenal

Arsenal head coach Jonas Eidevall, speaking to BBC Two about Leah Williamson's WSL return: "We’re so happy and delighted to bring players back from long-term injuries. But they have always been in our plans. You are maybe surprised on the outside but for us, it has been more gradual."

On title chances: "I don’t reflected too much on current league position. We need to go game by game, The performances week in, week out will determine our league position so we need to focus on that."

On West Ham: "West Ham are an aggressive team, they press with real intensity so they have threats we need to deal with. But the version of ourselves we showed at Liverpool was good, we need to focus on that."

I spoke too soon. That was far too easy for United.

Geyse did well on the right, beating Poppy Pattinson before finding Nikita Parris.

She scored twice against Villa and is already on the scoresheet today, taking her tally to seven for the season.

Parris jumped up straight into Geyse's arms to celebrate. It was the Brazilian who did the hard work.

    She scores again!

Manchester United have been pushing in the early stages and they get their reward.

Geyse coolly rolls the ball past a Brighton defender and chops the ball into the middle of the box, where it's met by Nikita Parris who taps it past Sophie Baggaley.

I'm told Pauline Bremer did not travel with the Brighton squad today. We'll hopefully get more of an update from Mikey Harris afterwards.

It means there is a chance for Katie Robinson to come back into the side. She's struggled for form this season but can be such a crucial player for Brighton when at her best.

She will be desperate to get back into Sarina Wiegman's England squad too.

There are several tributes being paid by Manchester United today in memory of those involved in the Munich air disaster on 6 February 1958.

Both managers will lay wreaths on the pitch before kick-off and there will be a rendition of The Flowers of Manchester.

Players from both clubs will also wear black armbands, which will be replicated by the men's first team later and at the academy games.

  17. Dropping points 'so costly'published at 11:53 Greenwich Mean Time 4 February

Man Utd v Brighton (12:00 GMT)

    Esme Morgan
Manchester City and England defender on Women's Football Weekly

Manchester United have dropped a couple of points in games where they maybe shouldn't have and it's so costly.

It just leaves you too much work to do, there's not enough games in the WSL season to afford a few bad games.

You can maybe drop a point here and there to the top of the table rivals but anything more than that is really costly.

We [Man City] found that out last year, missing out on the Champions League. United have maybe seen that you've got to have that high, high level of consistency in order to compete.

  18. Questions will be asked if points droppedpublished at 11:50 Greenwich Mean Time 4 February

There is no hiding for Manchester United manager Marc Skinner, who admits he is aware of the pressure he faces from supporters in particular.

His side sit fourth in the table, 10 points off leaders Chelsea, and have dropped points in half of their matches already this season.

Their home form has been particularly disappointing given the large crowds they regularly attract at Leigh Sports Village, having suffered defeats by Liverpool and Manchester City, while drawing with Leicester and Arsenal.

They did beat Aston Villa in their last match at LSV but there will be questions asked if they cannot see off a Brighton side undergoing managerial changes, and that sits 10th in the table.

Skinner said this week that Phillips’ sacking "maybe changes the context of the game" because United don’t know if Brighton will "continue with their game plan."

It is definitely an interesting match-up, that’s for sure.

  20. Bristol City pick up valuable pointpublished at 11:46 Greenwich Mean Time 4 February

We've already had one game this weekend, with Bristol City holding Aston Villa to a 2-2 draw on Saturday.

Villa dominated, registering 36 shots to Bristol City's four, but they were held back by a Vixens side who twice came from behind.

Wales midfielder Carrie Jones scored an excellent long-range strike to level late on for Bristol City.

It's a valuable point for bottom-placed Bristol City, who are now only two points behind second-bottom West Ham.
