  1. 'We want to show our identity'published at 17:55 Greenwich Mean Time 3 March

    Leicester v Chelsea (18:00 GMT)

    Leicester City

Leicester City manager Willie Kirk on not having many players on international duty: "It helped a bit. Two came back injured but the ones who did go didn't necessarily come back in good health. Deanne Rose is still away with Canada at the Old Cup. International breaks are challenging for every team in regards to whether you have all of your players away or just a few. We're well prepped, we've had two good sessions with the whole squad. I think we've done as much as we need to do and can do.

Building on 5-2 win over Bristol City: "It's our job to get that momentum back as quickly as possible. Ideally, we would have had a game a few days later because we were in good momentum, we were in good flow. Over our two previous games, we've scored 11 goals, a lot of different goalscorers. Everyone was playing really with a bit of freedom and creativity. We just need to get that back as quickly as possible. In terms of games that you'd want to come back to, a Sky Sports game, Chelsea, Sunday evening, what a game to come back to. The players should be inspired by that and we should look forward to what performance the players can produce.

Emma Hayes saying Leicester are tough to score against: "I think Emma also said in her press conference we foul more than any other team in the league and she wanted a strong referee. We have our identity, defensively we're a lot better than last year, but for us, we are much better in possession as well and we're scoring goals in every game. We are scoring goals from different areas of the pitch and it is that which we want to focus on today. If our defensive work, which is normally aggressive and high up the pitch,, that Man City game was actually a little bit different for us but we want to bring our own identity back to our home pitch tonight and be aggressive, be on the front foot as much as possible and really take the game to Chelsea.

    Chloe Hudson-Jones
Ex-Leicester and Aston Villa defender on BBC Radio 5 Sports Extra

It [the title race] makes the league exciting. Probably not for Chelsea, but it's so competitive. We are so used to seeing Chelsea at the top of the table. It makes the league look so different. Chelsea need to put the work in tonight to be able to get back on top.

  3. 'The break kills your momentum'published at 17:51 Greenwich Mean Time 3 March

    Leicester v Chelsea (18:00 GMT)

    Leicester City

Leicester are in the middle of a good run of form, having won four of their five games before the international break in all competitions.

Foxes boss Willie Kirk said that it was "a shame" to have the break stop their momentum.

He said: "We finished before the international break with back-to-back wins and 11 goals. It was a shame the break came when it did because we were in a rich vein of form, we have been since the turn of the year.

"It kills your momentum a little bit but it's up to us to try and pick that momentum up as quickly as possible and what better way to do it than against Chelsea."

Leicester City v Chelsea (18:00 GMT)

    Chelsea

Chelsea suffered only their second defeat of the season before the international break, losing 1-0 to title rivals Manchester City.

There isn't the time for them to dwell on that loss, though - only eight games remain.

"Everybody gets beat," said Chelsea manager Emma Hayes. "I accept those things. As always it's about the learnings you take from them. Whatever it took for us to win [the title] last year, it certainly has to be more than that this year.

"I'm not one to stew over anything. Life's too short."

  6. Pressure on for Chelseapublished at 17:42 Greenwich Mean Time 3 March

    Leicester v Chelsea (18:00 GMT)

Chelsea are on the hunt for a fifth successive Women's Super League title - and they need a win today to keep up the pace at the top.

Manchester City currently lead the division having played a game more after they beat Everton 2-1 on Saturday.

City's goal difference is only one better, and Chelsea have scored more goals, so a win of any margin this evening would regain top spot for Emma Hayes' side.

  7. No James for Chelseapublished at 17:39 Greenwich Mean Time 3 March

Leicester City v Chelsea (18:00 GMT)

Chelsea will have to deal without Lauren James this evening as she serves a suspension for accumulation of yellow cards.

She's scored 12 goals for the Blues in 13 Women's Super League this season.

It's a shame for the London side, given her record against the Foxes.

James has scored four goals in just three WSL appearances against Leicester, averaging a goal every 40 minutes in the league against the them.

It's the joint-most she's scored against any opponent (level with Manchester United and Liverpool).

  8. Team news - James suspended but Macario in first squad, O'Brien absent for Foxespublished at 17:36 Greenwich Mean Time 3 March

    Leicester v Chelsea (18:00 GMT)

Willie Kirk makes just one change to the side that won 5-2 against Bristol City last time out.

Courtney Nevin comes in for England Under-23 forward Shannon O'Brien, who drops out of the squad after returning from international duty injured.

Leicester XI: Bott, Kop, Nevin, Tierney, Rantala, Whelan, Cayman, Green, Takarada, Thibaud, Momiki.

Subs: Dowsett, Ale, Howard, Palmer, Pelgander, Baker, Siemsen, Petermann, Draper.

    Leicester XI

Emma Hayes has made three changes to Chelsea’s starting line-up from the side that lost 1-0 to Manchester City on 16 February.

Catarina Macario is included in a Chelsea squad for the first time since she signed from Lyon in July. She has not played a game since rupturing her anterior cruciate ligament in 2022.

The club’s top goalscorer Lauren James is out through suspension and Ashley Lawrence is on international duty with Canada, while Melanie Leupolz drops to the bench.

Jelena Cankovic, Johanna Rytting Kaneryd and Eve Perriset are the replacements.

Chelsea XI: Hampton, Perisset, Bjorn, Carter, Charles, Nusken, Cuthbert, Cankovic, Reiten, Kaneryd, Ramirez.

Subs: Musovic, Ingle, Leopolz, Macario, Kirby, Hamano, Berger, Beever-Jones.

  10. Arsenal win north London derbypublished at 17:30 Greenwich Mean Time 3 March

    FT: Arsenal 1-0 Tottenham

Alessia Russo scored the game's only goal as Arsenal beat Tottenham in front of a sellout crowd at Emirates Stadium.

The England striker smashed the ball home from close range early in the second half after Kim Little and Beth Mead combined to create the chance.

Arsenal are level on points with Chelsea as things stand, albeit having played a game more.

  11. 'It's embarrassing'published at 17:26 Greenwich Mean Time 3 March

    FT: Bristol City 3-7 Brighton

    Bristol City

Bristol City boss Lauren Smith speaking to BBC Radio Bristol: "The game had everything in it. I’m really disappointed in the first half. There’s excitement in the second half. I’m really proud of how we got back into it but ultimately you have to look at the score and it’s embarrassing. I don’t know how to put it other than anger.

"Not even the amount of goals, it’s the way we are conceding them. The throw ins and corners that we were good at, it’s like we get better at one thing and forget how to do something else. What do you do then?

"Everybody knew this was a big game and a big moment. We were already up against it and now we are really, really up against it. We’ve been looking at it since the start that we were already the relegated team in many people’s minds.

"We put up a fight to show we could do something about it and now I’d say we are the relegated team again. There’s only one way out of it to prove everybody wrong but it is a big challenge and a mountain. Not one that is numerically impossible but if we don’t put 90 minutes in the tank defending then it is numerically impossible."

  12. How things stand at the bottompublished at 17:22 Greenwich Mean Time 3 March

Bristol City's chances of securing safety in the top flight look increasingly slim.

Just seven games remain, but after their defeat by Brighton and West Ham's draw with Manchester United they are now six points adrift.

    West Ham 0-0 Man Utd

And that is the last action of the game.

Goodness me. Rachel Williams will be gutted not to have won it for her side at the end there but a draw seems like a fair result, to be honest.

Honours even at Chigwell Construction Stadium.

  16. WHAT A MISSpublished at 16:59 Greenwich Mean Time 3 March

    West Ham 1-1 Man Utd

    Wow.

    Wow oh wow, wow.

A mix-up in the midfield sees the ball flying towards the empty West Ham net. Mackenzie Arnold races back to try and clear the danger but she's can't beat Rachel Williams in a foot race.

Williams has the goal at her mercy and a simple tap in would win it for her side. But she dribbles her effort wide.

Unbelievable. She puts her head in her hands and it's no surprise. She won't want to see that one back.
