I don't think that is a foul, not enough contact in the back on Adam Smith.

Burnley's celebrations are cut short as Josh Cullen prods in from close range but the goal is ruled out because Jacob Bruun Larsen is deemed to have fouled in the process of nodding the ball down to Cullen.

It's pretty quiet inside Turf Moor now the chances are not falling as regularly as they did towards the end of the first half. There is still time for Burnley to rescue this but Bournemouth are digging in and the Clarets are facing an 11th defeat in 14 Premier League home games.

Great recovery by Marcus Tavernier. It is from his free-kick that Burnley break but Tavernier is determined to win the ball back, chasing Vitinho to the edge of the Bournemouth box before being able to prod the ball away from the Burnley man.

All of us Burnley fans are waiting for the comfort of relegation. This season has been a mess - 18 signings and a few of them at best are Premier League quality. We destroyed a great team - our position is entirely self inflicted.

Bournemouth have been good at leaving very few gaps inside their box so Burnley try their luck from distance, Josh Cullen shooting from outside the box but Neto saves.

    Shoot first time!

Bournemouth clear it and Wilson Odobert needs to swing a foot at it. People will think I am being critical, but it's nowhere near good enough.

The home fans roar with encouragement as Wilson Odobert has the ball inside the box as a cross is only half cleared. Odobert takes a touch rather than shooting first time and his effort is blocked.

Burnley are open, one ball opens their defence but it's a good save by James Trafford.

Burnley have so much possession and don't create anything whereas Bournemouth look a threat.

    Important save by James Trafford!

It comes from another Bournemouth break as Justin Kluivert bursts forward down the left. He curls the ball behind the defence for Dominic Solanke, whose shot is denied by Trafford.

The visitors go close again moments later as Kluivert this times tees up Marcus Tavernier but he shoots into the sidenetting.

  17. Tierney made 'monumental error'published at 14:05 Greenwich Mean Time 3 March

Former Premier League referee Mike Dean told Sky Sports on Sunday that Paul Tierney had made a “monumental error” in awarding Liverpool a drop ball one minute and 50 seconds before Darwin Nunez scored the Reds' winner at Nottingham Forest.

Forest had possession when the whistle was blown following a head clash.

Dean criticised Forest chairman Evangelos Marinakis for being on the pitch at full-time, saying “we don’t want scenes like that at the end of the game”.

Dean said: “Unfortunately for Paul it is a mistake and it is a bad one, it leads to a goal, eventually.

“There has been a big fallout and rightly so – it’s a big error.

“Paul will be devastated because a goal came from it. He will sit down and assess- with his team - what they could have done differently.

“I was surprised the chairman came down I’ve never seen that before in the Premier League.”

On his former colleague Mark Clattenburg speaking to BBC Radio 5 live about the refereeing performance, Dean added: “Mark’s got a job to do for Nottingham Forest, he’s allowed to do that, but not to go and see the ref. And the ref has the power to say ‘I don’t want to see anyone’.”

    Simon Stone
BBC Sport at the Etihad Stadium

All quiet on the field at the Etihad Stadium but plenty of activity around it as Manchester City prepare to play host to the latest city showdown with United.

There are lots of TV camera set up - the media area underneath the stand where reporters have a chat and get something to eat is pretty full - and I have already spotted former City duo David James and Michael Brown.

Once the players start to warm-up about 45 minutes before kick-off, it really will start to get busy out here.

Harry: Save of the season by Neto?

Darren: Got to be the worst Bournemouth half this season by far, yet they’re winning. Burnley are running rings around Bournemouth, but getting nowhere fast.
