City fired in 18 shots in the first half - since Opta have this data available (from 2003-04), this is the joint-most Man Utd have faced in the first half of a Premier League game (also 18 v Fulham in March 2009).

    On Marcus Rashford's goal...

Because the ball has gone from keeper to Bruno Fernandes he has a defender to hold up, he then waits for Rashford to get past the midfield players to take a shot.

Rashford was running full tilt, he mad it look so easy, it's the perfect strike.

Rashford has told the whole world, 'let me get on with my job'.

That Erling Haaland chance, I would expect to have scored that in my playing days for teams like Atletico Adelaide, Torpedo Teletext, PA Baracus, Young Boys Begley (I didn't pick that name) or Mister Congo.

And I am terrible at football.

  5. 'It is bound to eat into me'published at 16:20 Greenwich Mean Time 3 March

    FT: Burnley 0-2 Bournemouth

    Burnley

Burnley boss Vincent Kompany, speaking to BBC Sport: "It is what football is about. The chances you have you have to put in the back of the net. We conceded off the very first moment for Bournemouth in the game.

"The lads were not putting the ball in the back of the net, but when they were well that's a whole other discussion.

"There's 11 games left, we have been at it a while, so you build your understanding of the league as you go. Forest away, handball or not handball and then we get a letter saying sorry.

"The Luton one where in that case it is deemed not to be a push and they give a goal and today it is deemed to be a push and don't give the goal.

"You can understand there is a little bit of confusion. Did my team score a goal today? Based on some games they did but today they didn't.

"I know on Match of the Day you have a limited time to go through this, but the Luton goal is given and then this goal is taken off us, it is bound to eat into me.

"The yellow card [for Dara O'Shea], I think that was deserved but then it happens on the other side and they don't get it.

"You will never hear me criticise referees for their intentions, we are all human beings, but it is part of some of the things that have gone against us this season. I can't say it in a more respectful way.

"What do I want from my team? I want them to show the energy they did today, I want them to show the fight for what is a wonderful opportunity for Burnley which is to be in the Premier League. You have to rely and trust in your players to turn a corner, that is really important."

  6. 'There's a real lack of consistency with decisions'published at 16:20 Greenwich Mean Time 3 March

    FT: Burnley 0-2 Bournemouth

    Burnley

Burnley boss Vincent Kompany, speaking to Sky Sports: "It is a shame because the energy in the team was there. The chances were there. As the season goes it is one moment. Literally the first moment they crossed into our half of the pitch it was a goal."

On refereeing decisions: "We couldn't put the ball in the net but that is another point this season. There is a real lack of consistency we need to look at. An important game against Luton there was a similar case where a push is not deemed to be a foul, in this game it is deemed to be a foul. It was a very important moment. I've no issues with the conclusion that it is not a penalty but we conceded one against Aston Villa which was just as soft a touch.

"Yellow card, Dara O'Shea get a yellow card, no issue with it. But they have something similar and no yellow card. Maybe if you line it up in the right way someone ends up being sent off for the opposition team if you have the consistency.

"I am calm about it, but it just has not been good enough.

"I'd like to keep my focus on my team and the game, I don't necessarily want to have a go at the referees. The key thing we are asking for is the consistency that is lacking at the moment.

"It creates a situation where we feel we are not getting what we should be getting.

"The only thing that should play a part is the fact that we missed our chances. Football is this way, the first goal we conceded is a goal we can't concede. It is completely fair to own the responsibility for that.

"We need to fight for everything we can get."

    FT: Burnley 0-2 Bournemouth

    Bournemouth

Bournemouth boss Adoni Iraloa, speaking to Sky Sports: "We was disappointed with the first half and in the second half, we had much more energy and had chances to score.

"Obviously they continued to push us and put pressure on, we expected much better.

"They have a lot on the ball, they use the keeper on the ball and you have to press them and you have to go high which takes a lot of risks.

"I think second half especially we was much better.

"Relief, yes. We have been in this position and then we lost some very valuable points at the end.

"We didn't play so well, but we won it sometime you have to know how to win these kind of games."

On staying up: "We still need points, it is important for us to score and win games and we still need more points."

Pep Guardiola was ready to celebrate then, instead he ended up with his head in his hands.

I can only think Haaland lost concentration thinking he was going to score before he actually had.

    That was unbelievable.

A bit before that, Pep was moaning when Kobbie Mainoo went down with an injury, then opted not to have treatment, which would have forced him off the field.
