West Ham have a match tonight but could be quite busy off the field in the latter hours of the transfer window.

Said Benrahma is finalising his move to Lyon, negotiations are continuing with Real Betis over Pablo Fornals and there is also interest in Maxwel Cornet.

I am not getting the impression anything significant is happening around signings.

Sagoe Jr is Championship side Swansea's second January signing after winger Ronald joined for an undisclosed fee.

Swans head coach Luke Williams said last week he expects a "late flurry" of transfer activity before the transfer deadline on Thursday, 1 February.

The Welsh side are also working on a deal for Norwich City's Poland international Przemyslaw Placheta, a left-sided midfielder.

I know clubs are feeling the pinch of FFP but this has to be the most boring uneventful deadline day ever!

    Lee

I'm loving this quiet, FFP hindered deadline day. It's a nice change to see all the 'big' clubs unable to cherry pick other clubs' best players in the middle of the season. Long may it continue.

Byers won promotion from League One via the play-offs with the Owls last season and joins a Blackpool side sitting eighth in the table, just four points off the top six.

"Midfield is somewhere we feel needed reinforcing," said Seasiders head coach Neil Critchley. "George brings invaluable experience and technical quality."

There was definite Nottingham Forest interest in Crystal Palace keeper Sam Johnstone but it now looks certain the England keeper will remain at Selhurst Park for the rest of the season.

Johnstone has not abandoned hope of forcing his way back into Roy Hodgson's starting line-up and believes Palace is his best option just now.

  14. Frank 'happy' as left-back spot takenpublished at 14:29 Greenwich Mean Time 1 February

Expert View Brentford GraphicImage source, .

    Phil Parry, BBC Radio London

Thomas Frank was asked before his side's game against Tottenham how he would feel about his squad if Brentford were to do no more business in the transfer window. His answer was succinct and to the point. "Happy," he said.

The arrival of Sergio Reguilon on loan filled a gap which has been gapingly open at left-back/wing-back since the club first lost the regular in that position Rico Henry and then his surrogate Aaron Hickey. Frank admitted that it was a situation that they had to resolve and in doing so he was satisfied.

The return to the playing squad of Ivan Toney may not be because of business in the murky waters of the transfer window but, and I know this is a cliché, it really does feel like a new signing has been made. Toney's absence was increasingly felt as the first half of the season progressed, especially as injuries took a toll and the impact on his reappearance was palpable. It was not just the goal that he scored but his all-round presence in that central forward role which is something which is hugely important.

Goalkeeper Hakon Valdimarsson and midfielder Yunus Emre Konak have also arrived this month, but as is the way with the club's model, they are seen as having potential and will be given the opportunity to develop within the system.

During his news conference on Tuesday, Frank refused to be drawn on discussing any interest in specific players but did admit with a smile that the club had been linked with many potential signings, up to a dozen. And while Frank himself would not confirm or deny, one of those has reportedly been Antonio Nusa. Over the past seven days it was initially said that the club had agreed a deal for the Club Brugge rising star, only for the move to hit a snag.

Frank reiterated the club's approach to transfers, citing examples such as Kevin Schade, saying that they are always tracking players and sometimes if a signing fails to materialise in one window, it does not preclude it from the next - the message being that if the remainder of the mid-season sales stay quiet for the Bees, it is still worth keeping an eye out for what goes on in the summer.

Aston Villa's new signing Morgan Rogers has been on X, formerly known as Twitter, to thank his former club Middlesbrough.

"I want to thank everyone associated with Boro for a memorable time. To the players, the staff and also you fans for supporting me the short time I’ve been here," the England Under-20 international said.

"I’ll always be grateful of the fact I got to represent such an amazing club. I’ll see you all soon."

  16. Quiet day expected at Spurspublished at 14:23 Greenwich Mean Time 1 February

    Tottenham Hotspur

Don't expect any Tottenham signings today.

On Tuesday, Spurs boss Ange Postecoglou said: "I don't see any incomings. Outgoings are a little bit different as I'm not totally engaged with it - other people are doing the work around that. I'd say unlikely on both fronts without ruling anything out."

Have to disagree with all the best signings, even Mahrez (sorry, Matt). Robert Huth from Stoke to the Foxes. Relegation zone and down and out when signed in January 2015. The rest is history. The great escape, then the championship. One follows on from the other.

  18. Everton set for 'very quiet end to a very quiet transfer window'published at 14:17 Greenwich Mean Time 1 February

    Mike Richards, Unholy Trinity, external

It promises to be a very quiet end to a very quiet transfer window for Everton.

I'm sure the Toffees will get the blame for other clubs being overly cautious as well.

Both Sean Dyche and director of football Kevin Thelwell have made it crystal clear that given our precarious financial situation, incomings are highly unlikely.

The honesty is refreshing and exactly what we've been calling for, after years of silence from the club. However, it lays bare the true extent of our past financial failures.

A fresh face would give both the players and fans a much-needed boost. And don't we need it. Two financial regulation charges, a takeover saga that shows no signs of ending and living off payday loans is enough to impact anyone with a heartbeat.

There have been a few murmurings of potential outgoings, with Arnaut Danjuma and Ben Godfrey the most likely to depart.

If either goes, hopefully some much-needed funds will then be freed up for us to at least bring someone in on loan.

The wide areas seem to be the ones we have lacked during this current barren spell. Both Jack Harrison and Dwight McNeil have been flogged to breaking point.

The hope was that we would have enough to get through the remainder of the season, but recent injuries have shown this is a squad that needs some serious reinvigorating. Fingers crossed for a late Christmas miracle on deadline day.

Mike Hughes: Think if it wasn't for FFP we would be seeing one or if not both of Eze and Olise arriving at Old Trafford for a medical today. I would predict after the inevitable shuffle at least one will be arriving in the summer.
