Yes, we know it's the first day of February but the January transfer window is still open - but not for much longer.

It slams shut on the stroke of 23:00 GMT, with the Scottish Premiership following at 23:30.

The deadline for all of Europe's top leagues is also today.

In Germany's Bundesliga it is 17:00, while it is 19:00 in Italy's Serie A, 22:00 in France's Ligue 1 and 23:00 in Spain's La Liga.

  2. Panic buyingpublished at 06:58 Greenwich Mean Time 1 February

Let's be honest, the January transfer window really hasn't got going as far as Premier League clubs are concerned.

Spurs have brought Timo Werner back to England and spent £25m on Romania defender Radu Dragusin, while Kalvin Phillips has moved from Manchester City to West Ham on loan in attempt to get more game-time with Euro 2024 looming.

But this window is lacking an earth-shattering deal as it stands. Is that about to change in the next 16 hours?

Today is a final opportunity for clubs to try and bolster their squads for the remainder of the season. Who will be panic buying? Who will be keeping their wallets firmly closed?

    We're about to find out.
