    West Brom 2-1 Coventry City

Carlos Corberan, as you might expect, is more animated on the touchline now, taking numerous opportunities to offer individual players advice.

Coventry have had 15 of the 22 attempts and three of the five on target. But they're going to start the weekend four points off the top six, as it stands, while West Brom will have a seven-point advantage over seventh-placed Norwich City.

  2. 'West Brom passing to Coventry'published at 21:44 Greenwich Mean Time 1 March

    Steve Ogrizovic
Ex-Coventry City goalkeeper on BBC CWR

West Brom are rattled. They're giving the ball away in bad areas - passing it to Coventry players when their own players are open. It just shows the pressure a goal can put on the opposition.

The euphoric home mood has been punctured a little.

And the only sound you can hear now is from the visiting section in the left side of the Smethwick End

Having scored their first goal here since 2007, Coventry could even have been level within a minute of top scorer Haji Wright's penalty, but strike partner Ells Simms lost his composure and blazed over on the burst.

Still not a done deal this one, yet!

  4. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 79 mins

    West Brom 2-1 Coventry

Tom Fellows, who's been a constant willing runner for West Brom, is replaced by Kyle Bartley.

  5. Postpublished at 76 mins

    West Brom 2-1 Coventry City

The unpredictable, back-and-forth quality that we saw during the early stages of this game has returned.

Veteran defender Erik Pieters just about deals with a dangerous cross, reaching out a leg under pressure and studding the ball back into Alex Palmer's arms.

West Brom could be in for a nervy finish.

  6. 'Coventry have their tails up'published at 21:39 Greenwich Mean Time 1 March

    West Brom 2-1 Coventry City

    Tony 'Bomber' Brown
West Brom's all-time leading goalscorer on BBC Radio WM

West Brom have got to re-organise and start playing again. They've sat back. The Albion fans are nervous - Coventry have got their tails up and Albion keep giving the ball away.

  7. Postpublished at 75 mins

    West Brom 2-1 Coventry City

Those away fans fancy this now.

Ellis Simms is played in on the right but lashes a shot high and wide.

Haji Wright's spot kick aside, Coventry still need to substantially sharpen their finishing if they're to complete a comeback.

GOAL - West Brom 2-1 Coventry Citypublished at 21:36 Greenwich Mean Time 1 March

    Haji Wright (73 mins)

The substitute Haji Wright rolls his penalty to Alex Palmer's right as the goalkeeper dives in the opposite direction. Joy for the loud visiting fans!

Coventry's long record of scoring away from home goes on. We could be in for a storming final 20 minutes or so!

  9. PENALTYpublished at 71 mins

    West Brom 2-0 Coventry City

    A way back for Coventry?

Cedric Kipre slaps the turf in annoyance after clearly bringing down Kasey Palmer.

    Haji Wright is over this...

  10. 'Coventry strikers not on top'published at 21:33 Greenwich Mean Time 1 March

    West Brom 2-0 Coventry City

    Steve Ogrizovic
Ex-Coventry City goalkeeper on BBC CWR

You've got two strikers on for Coventry and they haven't got on top of the ball.

Whenever Coventry do get going forward, Kasey Palmer is generally involved - but he hit that effort straight at the goalkeeper.

  11. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 69 mins

    West Brom 2-0 Coventry City

Tom Fellows cuts inside from the left and curls a shot wide of the far post.

West Brom then ring two changes of their own, Nathaniel Chalobah and Andreas Weimann replacing Grady Diangana and Okay Yokuslu.

Diangana's haunted Coventry again tonight, making it two goals in two against them this season with that fine first-half finish.

  12. Postpublished at 68 mins

    West Brom 2-0 Coventry City

Not a night to remember for Victor Torp in front of goal so far, although he's in good company in that respect among his team-mates.

The Dane sends a shot from ambitious range high over.

  13. Postpublished at 66 mins

    West Brom 2-0 Coventry City

He probably won't be too thrilled with the way he's approached his chances, but Kasey Palmer continues to be Coventry's main threat.

The midfielder zips another shot from distance straight into Alex Palmer's arms. The goalkeeper will happily accept those every time City take aim.

  14. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 64 mins

    West Brom 2-0 Coventry City

    Double change for West Brom.

Mikey Johnston comes off, having scored a goal for the highlights reel. You'll want to watch that one back.

Conor Townsend also makes way. John Swift and Adam Reach are on.

Coventry have scored in each of their last 12 away matches, stretching back to 25 October.

    No way through yet, though.

  16. 'Coventry trying to change the game'published at 21:23 Greenwich Mean Time 1 March

    West Brom 2-0 Coventry City

    Tony 'Bomber' Brown
West Brom's all-time leading goalscorer on BBC Radio WM

That was an opportunity for Victor Torp. It's a free strike inside the area and he's got to do better. He'll be disappointed.

Coventry have come out trying to change the game and West Brom keep giving the ball away. It's really opening up now.

  17. Postpublished at 58 mins

    West Brom 2-0 Coventry City

Tom Fellows performs two stepovers on his way inside the box on the right, then slings a low delivery across the face of goal.

Mikey Johnston is arriving at the speed of a steam train in full flow but can't reach it. The livewire wants there to have been a foul but it's a half-hearted looking appeal.

  18. CLOSE!published at 55 mins

    West Brom 2-0 Coventry City

Coventry have their best chance of the game and an elusive shot on target!

The ball sits up kindly for Victor Torp in space inside the box, but his shot with his weaker left foot is easy for Alex Palmer to stop, claiming at the second attempt.

  19. Sky Blues have to seriously up their gamepublished at 21:18 Greenwich Mean Time 1 March

    West Brom 2-0 Coventry City

    Ged Scott
    BBC Sport at The Hawthorns

Attack-minded switch from Coventry boss Mark Robins, putting top scorer Haji Wright on for the strangely ineffective Callum O'Hare.

The Sky Blues have not scored at The Hawthorns in three visits since Leon Best and Michael Mifsud bagged a brace each in a 4-2 Sky Blues win in December 2007.

And they are going to have seriously up their game in the second half if they are to enjoy a repeat of that.

  20. 'West Brom taking chances'published at 21:17 Greenwich Mean Time 1 March

    West Brom 2-0 Coventry City

    Steve Ogrizovic
Ex-Coventry City goalkeeper on BBC CWR

It's imperative Coventry get the next goal. 2-1, they are back in it; 3-0, there's probably no way back.

West Brom are taking chances at the back and Coventry have got four or five players on a high press.
