    Aston Villa

Aston Villa striker Ollie Watkins: "Really disappointing. First half I felt like we had a few opportunities on the break, I had one myself.

"Second half, we've come out a little bit slow, they've scored two goals really quickly. It's very difficult against a good side to come back from 2-0. Obviously with our captain getting sent off as well, it's difficult.

"I can definitely do better, as a team we can do better. But look, this game doesn't define us. We've done unbelievable to get where we are today. We've still got a lot of football to play.

"The sending off I think is harsh. Obviously it looks a little bit reckless because it's in front of their bench and a big reaction from their side. It's obviously a tough one to take.

"If someone says you lose the game but you finish with 10 men then I'd take that. John McGinn is so important for us. That's the biggest nail in the coffin, losing him for three games.

"I believe in us, [Champions League qualification] is in our hands."

    West Ham 1-2 Burnley

Have Burnley weathered the storm? It looked like only a matter of time before West Ham equalised but they are struggling to work James Trafford now as Edson Alvarez sends a tame effort over the bar.

  3. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 15:32 Greenwich Mean Time 10 March

    Brighton 1-0 Nottingham Forest

Nottingham Forest boost their attacking strength as they send on Taiwo Awoniyi and Callum Hudson-Odoi for Nicolas Domínguez and Ryan Yates.

    Just under 20 minutes remaining.

    Brighton 1-0 Nottingham Forest

Chris Wood shows some pace that I didn't think he had as he chases a decent ball into the box and then his strike towards the far corner is pushed behind superbly by Bart Verbruggen.

Nottingham Forest are throwing everything at Brighton now.

  5. 'We have to control our emotions'published at 15:30 Greenwich Mean Time 10 March

    FT: Aston Villa 0-4Tottenham

    Aston Villa

Aston Villa manager Unai Emery to Sky Sports: "We compete very well in the first half, there weren't very many chances from them.

"We weren't clinical because they were defending very well and we didn't control the game. The match was controlled more or less in the plan we prepared.

"In the second half, the first two goals were crazy. After the red card it was more difficult to get a result.

"We have to control our emotions, even when we are losing 2-0. We have a responsibility to be mature. We are still fourth in the table but of course we have to accept to lose. Today we weren't clinical and we weren't better than the opponent. Then we lost control of our emotions and the red card was dissapointing for me.

"Of course John McGinn is always very, very important. He wishes to compete after the second goal.

"Then the match was difficult to come back. They score two goals. Still, there is two points difference but they have one match in hand. Of course we have to move on.

"Now we are thinking of Thursday. We have a very good match against Ajax, that is our focus."

To David from Leyton, with all due respect, the faith has been lost this whole calendar year. Been awful football and awful results. Two results against two out of form teams has masked that and then next 2 games, back to normal!

    FT: Aston Villa 0-4 Tottenham

    Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou to BBC Match of the Day: "We were outstanding in all facets. First half we made them work really hard. We maintained that tempo with our pressing, and the quality of our football in the second half was outstanding against a very good team.

"It was a big game with plenty of significance so for us to perform like that was a big credit to everyone.

"I felt towards the end of the first half they were working awfully hard to try and press us. That was the message at half-time that just perseverance would get us there today.

"We went on, we didn't stop playing our football. Great focus.

"I thought today, if we could impose our intensity and tempo on the game for 100 minutes we'd be hard to stop.

"It's not easy, especially away from home, but I though we handled ourselves really well.

"It means we're one game closer, just 11 games to go. Everyone was billing this as a do-or-die for us. I assume we're not dead yet."

Pastabake_: I'm genuinely confused at the vitriol aimed at David Moyes. West Ham are in 8th place in the Premier League. Do the fans really think they are better than any of the 7 teams above them ?

    FT: Aston Villa 0-4 Tottenham

    Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou to Sky Sports: "I think we made it tough for Aston Villa, they worked hard just to contain us. Last 10 minutes of the second half you could already see them starting to tire a little bit.

"We just had to continue to do that and we got our rewards in the second half.

"We knew it was a big game obviously, everyone was talking it up as a game where it could lead to something significant. I never saw it like that, there's a good chunk of the season still to go.

"We just needed to stay calm, play our football.

"Get excited, why not? The supporters, if they don't get excited by a performance and result like that, in what was a significant game...you've got to enjoy that.

"We know every game is a challenge in the Premier League, especially a team like us who are trying to gain an identity.

"The next step for us is to maintain a consistency of quality performances."
