Just that end product has been missing so far, Anthony Gordon will be disappointed to have not hit the target with that earlier chance.

A H-U-G-E chance for Anthony Gordon to reach double digits in terms of Premier League goals for Newcastle this season. He's completely unmarked as he heads a cross into the box wide. He'll be disappointed with that finish.

Fair to say there's going to be a big chunk of time added on at the end of this half. There's another stop in play to allow Lucas Paqueta to receive treatment.

I do get it when people go on about Newcastle and Liverpool’s injury records this season but it annoys me that it’s all considered ‘bad luck’. There are more factors for an injury crisis: training, facilities, game management, stretching, strength conditioning, style of play, suitable cover, the list goes on. And no doubt luck is in that list but all these other things shouldn’t be ignored. I know this won’t be popular and I’ll get given all the examples of how this crisis is unavoidable but I think that’s naïveté to be honest and those clubs need to be addressing those things to ensure that injury crises don’t continue!

Anthony Gordon played 86 minutes for England during the international break. He might have won the penalty for his side's goal but he cannot get going here. An attempted pass to a team-mate goes wrong and West Ham are on the attack.

Groans from the stands as Anthony Gordon gifts possession straight back to West Ham after doing well to create space for himself. Newcastle's energetic start is starting to feel like a long time ago.

Newcastle are trying to regain the advantage after that filthy finish by Michail Antonio.

To be honest, there's a lull in the game after an incident-packed start.

    It's all a bit stop-start.

I’ve said it before and I will say it again. David Moyes has done a terrific job. That is a big response to an early setback.

The mood inside St James' Park has changed after the injury to Jamaal Lascelles followed by Michail Antonio's equaliser.

By the way, this was Lascelles's first Premier League start since 23 December when he was subbed off through injury after 37 minutes.

Since Lascelles picked up that injury, he made only two Premier League appearances: as a sub at Liverpool on New Year's Day (9 minutes) and at Arsenal on 24 February (17 minutes).

The finish is excellent from Michail Antonio.

You give Lucas Paqueta freedom and he can see a pass. He feeds the ball through excellently, Antonio runs off the back of the defender brilliantly, keeps himself just onside.

Martin Dubravka backs off initially and gives him more time to think about the finish, and Antonio slots home calmly.

Newcastle have had plenty of injuries this season and there is another one they will need to contend with this afternoon.

That will force a change in the shape, Tino Livramento over to left back and Dan Burn looks to have moved inside to centre half.
