Brighton boss Roberto de Zerbi, speaking to Sky Sports: "I have a big respect and I believe so much in my players.

"I know we are in a tough moment but I know what the level of the people inside my dressing room is. We'd like to make our fans happy again and we are working for that."

On talks with Brighton owner Tony Bloom and his future: "I am lucky because I have a clear idea and in my life I decide always what I want to do. I will speak with Tony and the club and we will find a solution together without problems but I know my future and what I want.

"I want to compete and keep my ambition high because my life is football. I want to wake up happy every morning and fight to reach the maximum."

Liverpool

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp to Sky Sports:

"We dominated in a lot of moments like we never did in a game before against Brighton - we played much better football, caused them real problems. In so many moments we did really well after a super tricky start. It was a wonderful goal from them, well played, great finish.

"We were not in a rush in the build-up but in our finishing we were in a rush - we had a lot of moments, shots, situations but not with the real quality we have.

"That was the most important thing I told the boys at half-time - the high press was really good and we had to play in similar spaces to the first half but the finishing, we just had to calm down and thankfully we did.

"I'm really, really happy with the way we played today. It's better to concede in the first minute than the 95th minute but it's not what you want."

Not much to talk about from that 45 minutes so let's get some reaction from the early game which saw Liverpool overcome Brighton 2-1 to go top.

A reminder that if it stays like this, Liverpool will have a two point lead with nine games to go. Manchester City will be three points off the pace.

It was going to be like this. Manchester City will always have more of the ball and Mikel Arteta has come up with a plan for playing against that. They have parked the bus.

You can hear the crowd is very unhappy with David Raya, they think he's wasting time.

So many great adverts for the Premier League lately. Bournemouth coming from 0-3 down to win 4-3 against Luton. Newcastle 1-3 behind against West Ham before winning 4-3.

This is lacking in drama and entertainment but there is still time for that to change.

Now Gabriel is down hurt after trying to prevent a Rodri header which flashes well wide of David Raya's post.

First chance for Erling Haaland!

A cross is floated into Arsenal's box and the big Norwegian, who is being marked by Gabriel, is up to meet it but it drops wide.

Arsenal are enjoying a decent spell of pressure in and around City's penalty box but the home side are defending in numbers. A good day for both defences so far.
