Liverpool have probably had the brighter start.

Jas Matthews is found in space on the left-hand side, but there's nobody there to receive the delivery when she tries to send a cross into the box.

    Ooh.

Liverpool are nearly gifted a great chance as Julie Thibaud completely mistimes a backpass towards Lize Kop.

It lacks power, and the hosts try to run on to it, but Sophie Howard gets back to clear the danger.

Leicester have a corner, but Liverpool display their strength in defence.

The in-swinging delivery is punched out by Rachael Laws, then three players immediately close down Julie Thibaud as the ball drops to her feet.

    Liverpool 0-0 Leicester

A half-chance for Liverpool, but it's well defended by Leicester.

Missy Bo Kearns slides the ball out to Emma Koivisto as the Reds launch a counter-attack.

Koivisto tries to square it to Mia Enderby but her pass is intercepted.

  14. Wembley on the horizonpublished at 11:57 Greenwich Mean Time 9 March

    Liverpool v Leicester (12:00 GMT)

The fact that just two wins separate these sides from the FA Cup final at Wembley will undoubtedly be on the players' minds.

Liverpool have reached the final on three occasions but haven't done so since the 1995-96 season, so are searching for their first final at Wembley.

It's also the first time that the Reds have reached the quarter-final stage since the 2018-19 season, and they haven't qualified for the final four since 2016-17.

The Foxes, meanwhile, are looking to reach the semi-finals for the first time.

    Liverpool v Leicester (12:00 GMT)

Liverpool and Leicester have met twice already this season, each side winning a game 2-1.

The last meeting came in the Women's Super League in November, with Liverpool claiming victory at Prenton Park.

Austria midfielder Marie Hobinger scored a late goal to win that game, earning the Reds their first top-flight victory over the Foxes.

They played each other for the first time in the WSL in 2022-23, with Leicester coming out on top on both occasions.

  17. Reds on winning runpublished at 11:48 Greenwich Mean Time 9 March

    Liverpool v Leicester (12:00 GMT)

Liverpool are in the middle of a strong run of form, having won each of their past three games in all competitions.

They beat Aston Villa 4-1 in the League last time out, won 1-0 at Brighton before that, and beat London City Lionesses 2-0 in the previous round of the FA Cup.

They're also unbeaten in four games in all competitions.

Will the Reds, who have climbed to fifth in the Women's Super League during their strong run of form, come out on top again this afternoon?

  18. Differing fortunes for early surprise packagespublished at 11:45 Greenwich Mean Time 9 March

    Liverpool v Leicester (12:00 GMT)

After the first four weekends of Women's Super League action, it was Liverpool and Leicester who were writing many of the headlines.

They were fifth and sixth in the league, sitting above Arsenal after impressive starts and jostling among the teams at the top of the table.

Leicester won both of their opening two fixtures, but they've now won just four after 15 games.

Liverpool are fifth once again, level on points with fourth-placed Manchester United.

The Reds have been more consistent and continued their ascent of the table. Leicester are seventh, but trail Liverpool by nine points.

  19. How they got herepublished at 11:42 Greenwich Mean Time 9 March

    Liverpool v Leicester (12:00 GMT)

Only teams from the Women's Super League remain as the Women's FA Cup reaches the quarter-finals, and every top-flight team has only played two games so far to get to this stage.

Liverpool beat Bristol City 1-0 in the fourth round before winning 2-0 at second-tier London City Lionesses to reach the last eight.

This is the first time that Leicester have faced a fellow WSL side in the competition this year, having beaten third-tier Derby County 4-0 and second-tier Birmingham City 6-2 in their two matches.

  20. How to watch this weekend's quarter-finalspublished at 11:39 Greenwich Mean Time 9 March

We kick off the quarter-finals of the Women's FA Cup at Prenton Park this afternoon, with Liverpool hosting Leicester City.

Chelsea look to take another step towards winning the quadruple as when they play on Sunday at 13:00 GMT.

Emma Hayes' side travel to Walton Hall Park to face Everton in a quarter-final match which will be shown live on the BBC.

Leicester City and Tottenham hope to make history by reaching the last four of the competition for the first time as they play Liverpool and Manchester City respectively.

There is a rematch of last season's semi-final as Brighton face Manchester United, with Albion looking for revenge after missing out on a trip to Wembley.

All other games are on the FA Player.
