Last five to 10 minutes Everton have looked the more positive of the two teams, more likely to score. Likelihood is that Newcastle are just trying to see things out until half time.

Everton have had a few promising attacks, a few half chances, but not enough as it stands. I think both sides would be content to go in as it is at half time Everton just trailing by one and Newcastle leading by one.

  2. 'Everton look dangerous when Young and McNeil on the ball'published at 20:19 British Summer Time 2 April

    Newcastle 1-0 Everton

    Pat Nevin
Former Chelsea and Scotland winger on BBC Radio 5 Live

When Ashley Young and Dwight McNeil get the ball for Everton they have looked dangerous. Problem is, it hasn't happened nearly as often as it should.

Abdoulaye Doucoure also had a chance and probably should have done better.

  3. CLOSE!published at 20:19 British Summer Time 2 April

    Burnley 0-0 Wolves

Oooh great effort. Vitinho cuts inside off the right, tries a few stepovers but drills it straight at Jose Sa.

Nottingham Forest fans are in dreamland!

The relegation-threatened side needed a big performance tonight and they have delivered with a heavily one-sided 45 minutes.

It is nice approach play again by Forest as Morgan Gibbs-White is fed inside the box and he places into the far corner.

  6. GREAT SAVE!published at 20:15 British Summer Time 2 April

    Newcastle 1-0 Everton

Fantastic save with his feet by Jordan Pickford as Lewis Hall does really well to dig out a cross, it is headed on to Jacob Murphy, who volleys cleanly towards goal but is denied.

    Everton still in this. Just.

    Burnley 0-0 Wolves

Wolves break through the middle. Pablo Sarabia tries to slip it through to Leon Chiwome but it's intercepted just in case.

Joao Gomes then comes crashing in on Vitinho and comes off worst.

Dyche is a lucky man that the owner wants out and doesn't care about the team anymore, anywhere else he'd be gone after this run of results and turgid performances

    Bradley

Under normal circumstances, Sean Dyche would have to be sacked as Everton manager. This losing run shows he has lost it. But Everton can’t afford the pay off, and with an absentee owner and a protracted takeover still unresolved, there’s nobody in charge to make the decision anyway.

This game is finally opening up after a dull start and now Bournemouth go close as Philip Billing drives a low effort inches wide of the far post.

One should not be fooled by the Forest scoreline. This will end a draw at best.

  12. CLOSE!published at 20:13 British Summer Time 2 April

    Newcastle 1-0 Everton

Really good chance for Everton as Amadou Onana plays a great ball through the defence to find Abdoulaye Doucoure, who turns and looks to curl a shot into the top corner, but Martin Dúbravka saves.

  13. Postpublished at 20:12 British Summer Time 2 April

    Burnley 0-0 Wolves

Ahh, big chance for João Gomes as Matt Doherty's run towards the back post isn't picked up on the Wolves' corner.

He heads it back across the box for Gomes but he nods it wide from a few yards out. He knows that was a big opportunity.

  14. CLOSE!published at 20:12 British Summer Time 2 April

    Bournemouth 0-0 Crystal Palace

    A chance at last!

Alex Scott is caught in possession and the ball is worked quickly to Jean-Philippe Mateta, who shows good footwork inside the box to create some space but his shot is denied by Neto.

It appears there actually might be some metal hanging from the roof at Turf Moor so part of the stand is being evacuated.

    Not an ideal scenario.

Meanwhile, Wolves have won another corner.
