    Man City 1-0 Aston Villa

    Steve Bruce
Ex Manchester United defender on BBC Radio 5 Live

Is there a better player in the Premier League than Rodri? I'm not sure there is.

He is a big strong lad, makes everything look so easy, scores goals. The statistics he has, having not lost a game of football in a year, that is bizarre! Incredible talent.

    Man City 1-0 Aston Villa

Aston Villa looking for an immediate reaction and Jhon Duran does well to connect with a looping ball coming over his left shoulder. Stefan Ortega makes a good save but the offside flag shoots up.

VAR did have a quick look at that one as it looked like Jeremy Doku could've been offside but the check is over pretty quickly.

    The goal stands.

Arsenal should be able to further improve their goal difference seeing as luton haven't even decided to turn up tonight.

  5. 'Luton have invited pressure and been punished'published at 20:28 British Summer Time 3 April

    HT: Arsenal 2-0 Luton

    Mark Warburton
Former Brentford and Nottingham Forest boss on BBC Radio 5 Live

If I was the Luton manager I would be so disappointed with that second goal going in, they were just about hanging on until half time.

They had put a few good crosses into the box, had some half chances, and the work was undone with that goal.

Arsenal have been camped in the Luton defensive third, pressing high and winning the ball back high. Luton have invited pressure on themselves and been punished for it.

  6. 'Great team move from City'published at 20:28 British Summer Time 3 April

    Man City 1-0 Aston Villa

    Paul Robinson
Former Tottenham and England goalkeeper on BBC Radio 5 Live

Really well worked down the right hand side by City.

Phil Foden feeds in Jeremy Doku with his pace in behind Lucas Digne and the cut back to Rodri is perfect. Rodri smashes the finish in past Robin Olsen who has no chance.

A great team move from City.

  7. goal

GOAL - Man City 1-0 Aston Villapublished at 20:26 British Summer Time 3 April

    Rodri (11 mins)

Well it has been all Manchester City so far and Jeremy Doku picks up the ball on the right-hand side. He whips it across and Rodri holds his run, timing it to perfection before poking into the roof of the net.

    Brilliant finish.

It's all City at the moment as the clock just ticks past 10 minutes. Aston Villa can't get out of their own half.

With so many injuries or illnesses, it's a bit of a free hit for Villa. Either they get the spanking everyone is expecting or they get a positive result.

    Man City 0-0 Aston Villa

Bit of a confidence booster for Robin Olsen as Phil Foden whips in a free-kick that's travelling at a decent pace and the keeper comes out to assert some authority, claiming with ease.

Huge jeers from the Aston Villa fans as former star Jack Grealish gets the ball. Seems a bit harsh as he delivered for his boyhood club and they did get £100m off Manchester City for him.

Grealish looks unmoved with a couple of sharp early contributions.

  12. Postpublished at 20:21 British Summer Time 3 April

    Man City 0-0 Aston Villa

John Duran has gone down after a clash of heads with Josko Gvardiol.

This would be a worry for Villa fans with Ollie Watkins also absent.

Looks like he fine to continue.

  13. HALF-TIMEpublished at 20:21 British Summer Time 3 April

    Arsenal 2-0 Luton

Can Luton get one back before the break? They have a free-kick 25 yards from goal, Ross Barkley is over it and gets his strike on target, but an easy save for David Raya.

That's half time with Arsenal heading top of the table.

    Brentford 0-0 Brighton

Referee Andy Madley has a word with Lewis Dunk, and ultimately gives the decision in Brentford's favour.

Relief for the home fans, probably confusion for the away supporters, before the whistle goes for half time.

Jack Grealish, who by the way is getting booed by the away supporters, does really well down the left and threads through for Julian Alvarez. The Argentine swipes at it but it hits the side netting.

    Man City 0-0 Aston Villa

Aston Villa win a very early corner after Manuel Akanji turns behind Nicolo Zaniolo's whipped cross.

It's not a bad in-swinging delivery but City clear.

Another mistake from Luton and another goal.

We said they had to get to half time and they haven't managed it.

Emile Smith Rowe involved again winning back the ball, drove to the byline and picked out a pass and Arsenal get their rewards.
