Not bad by Julian Alvarez, who finds the space but not the target as his attempt from outside the box flies wide of Dean Henderson's post.

City will feel they should be ahead, especially after that earlier chance for Erling Haaland.

Half an hour on the clock.

Manchester City have had 77% possession. Six attempts. Four on target.

    Yet they are still level.

Kevin de Bruyne is human after all. He's just taken two quick corners. Both were poor.

Kevin de Bruyne is starting to dominate proceedings. Oscar Bobb and Rico Lewis are combining well down the right hand flank too.

They look so threatening. You can't help but feel as though the second goal is not far away.

The overreaction to every goal in this title race is a thing of hilarity. Of course the best teams will go behind sometimes. But so many conclusions are being drawn and then revised with every minor twist!

Going back to Jean-Philippe Mateta's goal, he is the second player to have scored in both fixtures against Manchester City this Premier League season, after Raheem Sterling.

This marks the first season in which two players scored in both matches against City since 2020-21, when Mohamed Salah and Michail Antonio achieved this.

Around 25 minutes on the clock. Oliver Glasner will be pretty impressed with how his team have reacted since City's goal. They could have wobbled but they're making the visitors work really hard.

Josh: KDB reminding everyone of his brilliance, as if we even needed reminding.

De Bruyne must have seen the headlines about Foden this week and thought 'have some of this'.

    Tim, Berks

What a goal from KDB. That shot had everything. Bend, dip, power and accuracy. No keeper could have saved that. Worth the entrance fee alone.

There is just something about the top three this season, so much quality.

You expect them to start games well, take control and win, but even when they start poorly and go behind they just have it in them to fight back.

Fifteen minutes in and City are already level and looking to take the lead.

    That should be 1-2!

Erling Haaland just has Dean Henderson to beat but the Palace keeper is able to make the block.

Haaland would have scored that last season with his eyes closed.

Pep Guardiola looked nervous by his standards before the game. He was sat in the dugout for almost half an hour on his own fiddling with his mobile phone. Kevin de Bruyne's goal will have calmed the nerves in an instant.

Palace have poked the bear early on in the game, we've seen this before... city concede early and then before you know it they score a flurry of goals so watch this space

    Jack

Cannot understand why people are shocked City have conceded. As a city fan, we always concede to the first shot we take, it is tradition

Kevin de Bruyne is a world-class player. That term is used so much with him but he just showed exactly why that is.

City were dominating the ball but when he receives it he still had so much to do. A magnificent finish.

    Kevin de Bruyne

    Scorcher!

Manchester City aren't behind for long thanks to a goal of outstanding brilliance by Kevin de Bruyne, who is captaining the team today.

De Bruyne cuts inside and curls an inch-perfect finish beyond Dean Henderson, who could do nothing about that.

    That's a fine save!

Rodri slips as he goes for goal but still gets his shot away and Dean Henderson does well to turn it away after seeing it late.
