Borussia Dortmund hoss Edin Terzic: "I think we really earned our quarter-final spot with hard work. We played perhaps the best 30 minutes of the season at the beginning. After that, we should have scored more goals during that pressing phase.

"Unfortunately in the second half, we stopped playing like that but defended with passion. My voice is gone now; it was very taxing for me today. I am very proud to have been a part of this evening."

Borussia Dortmund forward Jadon Sancho after his match-winning goal: "It was like a relief. I just wanted to have a good start to the game and there's no better feeling than that.

"I'm grateful I got the goal for the team. I've always got a special place for Borussia Dortmund: this is where I made my name. I've got to be grateful to them and my team-mates for believing in me."

Inter have lost after scoring the opening goal in the Champions League for the first time since 5 November 2019 against Borussia Dortmund (19 games without defeat).

It is only the second time they have gone out of a Champions League knockout round after winning the first leg - after their 2005-06 quarter-final against Villarreal.
