Leeds win a corner down their left after some decent passes open up some space.

The away side take it short, and look to work an opening with some short passes, but the home side win a goal-kick.

We're into four minutes of time added on.

The vast majority of those are from that knock to the head that Leeds defender Joe Rodon took while clearing a corner.

Leeds are looking like they are going to show what they're all about here - but it's taken them over 40 minutes to do that. Sheffield Wednesday had stopped them from doing so.

  4. YELLOW CARDpublished at 43 mins

    Sheff Wed 0-0 Leeds

First yellow card of the evening goes the way of Leeds skipper Ethan Ampadu for a foul on Ike Ugbo.

Feels like every chance Leeds have had this evening has come the way of Georginio Rutter.

The Frenchman glances the corner on and it lands on top of the net.

Difficult opportunity but his movement was excellent and he might well think he ought to have tested the keeper.

Feels like Leeds are maybe just growing into this as the half wears on.

Archie Gray wins a corner down the Leeds right.

    This is a chance!

Georginio Rutter is played in behind the Owls defence but, despite getting two bites at it, he can't make it count.

James Beadle does well to sprint off his line and get a hand on his initial lobbed attempt and a Wednesday defender scrambles back to stop his second effort reaching the goal.

This game seems to have flown by. It's been everything you expect from a derby game; it's scrappy, a bit stop-start. Not a wonderful advertisement for the Championship so far.

It's like a game of pinball at the moment.

Leeds defender Ethan Ampadu steams forward out of defence and looks to link up with striker Patrick Bamford.

The one-time England international overhits his pass to Glen Kamara though and it all breaks down.

The Owls then look to spring an attack of their own but Leeds nip it in the bud.

This is Leeds' third game this week against a team fighting against relegation*.

They've only managed to score one in each of the first two, against Huddersfield and Stoke.

Will one be enough this evening?

*To be fair, half the league seems to be fighting relegation if you look how close things are in the lower half of the table!

Leeds defender Joe Rodon is back on his feet and OK to continue after quite a lengthy stoppage.

The Tottenham loanee took a sore one off his team-mate Junior Firpo as he cleared a corner.

There'll be a few minutes of time added on before the break now.

Michael, Leeds fan in Nottingham: I’d take a messy 1-0 tonight and then a rest after a busy period.

It's been pretty messy so far to be brutally honest...

Wednesday have their fifth corner of the game but once again the away side stand up to it.

Leeds defenders Joe Rodon and Junior Firpo stay down after clashing heads and they're just getting some treatment.

The away side have had much more of the ball but it's the home side who have had the better of the territory with it.

The Owls break forward from a long goal-kick up the field but the low cross goes across the face of goal and Marvin Johnson can't get on the end of it.

Straight down the other end, Patrick Bamford looks to be in from a long ball but, perhaps thinking he's offside, he dwells on it and the chance goes.

Eesh, Junior Firpo has not started this game well for Leeds.

The left-back leaves Ethan Ampadu VERY short with a pass in his own half and the Owls win another corner as Ampadu deflects Anthony Musaba's shot behind.

Patrick Bamford heads this one clear but Leeds are inviting pressure just now.

On nights like this, where it's a big game for both clubs, I wonder how big that save from the Leeds keeper will be. It's a fantastic save - that's Illan Meslier at his very best.

Steve in Darlington: Fifteen mins in and I think, once again, Leeds are going to struggle against a bottom six club. They just don't seem capable of breaking down a defensive setup.

Sean: A point from this and I'd be happy as a Wednesday fan. Three points and I'll run around the house for days.

Frank in Leominster: Leeds will win this 3-1.

  18. GREAT SAVE!published at 18 mins

    Sheff Wed 0-0 Leeds

Big chance and a great save from Leeds keeper Illan Meslier.

Marvin Johnson sends an outswinging corner in that's nodded down and Anthony Musaba looks to stab in from the corner of the six-yard box.

The Frenchman makes himself big and deflects the ball behind.

The subsequent corner comes to nought as Liam Palmer slams the loose ball way over from 20 yards.

Thirteen minutes in and it's a little bit scrappy, but it goes back to the pitch. I don't think the pitch allows you to take the sting out the game; it's bouncing and bobbling.

Wednesday win the first corner of the evening but, rather oddly, choose to go short with it and make a bit of mess of it all told.

The only three goals Leeds have conceded in the league in 2024 have come from set-pieces.
