    Southampton come close to scoring a key second, as Seny Dieng could only parry out a Stuart Armstrong cross and Lukas Engel cleared off the line from the rebound shot from Adam Armstrong.

    Boro broke, it looked like the Teessiders were in but Isaiah Jones was caught by a backpedalling Jack Stephens who stuck out a boot to put the ball out for a corner.

    Frantic and exciting.
