He meets a cutback pass from Tyrhys Dolan and does well to turn it home.

But Sammie Szmodics was stood between Rankin-Costello and goalkeeper Vaclav Hladky, and is flagged for offside as he was adjudged to be blocking Hladky's view.

Conor Chaplin has Blackburn in a panic again.

He swivels on to a pass just inside Blackburn's half then runs at the Rovers defence.

He dips to his right, then goes to his left as he looks to shoot from outside the box.

In the end it is a weak attempt that is easily collected by the goalkeeper.

Blackburn are growing in confidence and are getting their passing game going.

But they aren't troubling Rovers too much so far.

George Edmundson has the ball in the back of his own net, but it was never going to count for Blackburn as Ben Chrisene has already been flagged for offside.

Still, it got half a shout of joy out of the home fans.

Blackburn's Harry Pickering and Ben Chrisene probe Ipswich down the left, but the visitors crowd them out.

Play is switched to the right, but it's the same again as Rovers fail to even dig out a cross.

An Ipswich cross from the left hangs in the air and Aynsley Pears is out strong to collect for Blackburn.

And he needed to be, with a few Tractor Boys shaping up to meet the ball at the back post.

He seems to have had the wind knocked out of him. There is a pause in play, and the home fans are getting a bit annoyed by the delay.

Ipswich are cutting Blackburn open easily.

If they get a second goal, this game could be gone.

I think it will now be between the top three sides in the Championship table - Ipswich, Leeds and Leicester - as to who goes up automatically.

Ipswich are currently sitting top of the live Championship table by two points, though Leeds are still to play this evening.

Ipswich have a corner and it is fired in at pace from the right.

Kieffer Moore get to it at the front post, but his attempted effort is off target.

Blackburn go looking for the quick response and earn a corner, but fail to really trouble the visitors who are heading top of the table right now.

What a great start to be 1-0 up in the first 10 minutes.

And it is a yellow card each for both sides now.

Harry Pickering is booked for his foul on Omari Huthinson. The free-kick, however, comes to nothing.

What a decision that was! A total penalty for Ipswich that wasn't given.

The press box was in complete agreement that Blackburn had gotten away with one.

You could see that a shirt was being pulled back.

Callum Brittain looks VERY lucky to not give away a penalty. An it is a bad call from referee Stuart Atwell.

Brittain has a fist full of Nathan Broadhead's shirt as he gets into the box.

Ipswich have early reason to feel they should have a spot-kick.

The free-kick is put deep and Ipswich goalkeeper Vaclav Hladky is put under pressure.

The visitors, however, clear the ball.

It is a good job that the Ipswich fans are in full voice, otherwise there wouldn't be an atmosphere here at Ewood Park.

They are really, really quiet, are the Blackburn supporters.

Leif Davis makes a mess of a sliding tackle and takes Ryan Hedges out.

Davis gets an early yellow card and Blackburn line up for a free-kick from wide on the right.

It could be a dangerous early moment for Ipswich.
